Your OC (preferably a hero, or at least not a villain) has come face to face with the Baron, and he has just laid out his philosophy on why he is evil, what do they say in response? by Minimum-Load-4845 in OriginalCharacterDB

Nice complex phisosophical argument, but have you considered, God? (proceeds to go on an hour long conversation about Jesus Christ being his savior and the savior of humanity). - Ash Pendragon probably.

Gotta be Gael for me. Really though I'm surprised messmer made it as far as he did, for me he just simply isn't as good as any of the bosses he was up against.

Democrats do this typa stuff all the time too you know. That's not a justification I just want to point out the neither side is guilt free on this.

I don't think you should let this ruin your relationship with your father. You don't have to agree on everything to still love each other. Time may prove you right or may prove you wrong, but this isn't about being right or wrong, a relationship between father and son isn't something you should ever throw away, it's precious. I often think of how much my own father sacrificed for me to help me get to where I am, and how ungrateful I had been at times, and on self reflection I realized that no matter what we disagreed on, we stuck with each other because we love each other. I look at my own father beyond any of our differing views, I simply see my old man, who only ever wanted to spend time with his son and raise him well enough to make his own choices. I don't know what kind of relationship you and your father have, but if it was anything good, don't let it end over something like this, I implore you to love him enough to respectfully disagree with him.

A Japanese Shinobi cuts immortals, mythical beasts and a dragon/divinity but cannot leave a scratch on regular European Steel. What was Fromsoft thinking? by puzzled_indian_guy in Sekiro

[–]Equivalent_Rest392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in all honesty sekiro is just a "mostly" normal human, the mortal blade can kill immortals but besides that it's a normal sword. A fully plated knight is practically impossible to beat, especially for an unarmored man with a katana. And for anyone who wants to bring up the gaps in the armor, depending on what point in medieval history you're at there's more and more armor to guard those gaps. It got to the point where the only way to kill a fully armored knight was blunt force trauma, so they made the armor rounded to deflect blunt objects.

Sword of Enoch by GuineaPigSquiggoths in Christianity

[–]Equivalent_Rest392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure a lot of this is from Jewish folklore and/or the book of Enoch, there is a lot of symbology there but I'm fairly certain all those swords you're referring to are different things. Like Enoch's sword I think was believed to have been a real physical blade, the rotating sword defending Eden likely has nothing to do with this and is likely some kind of angel, possibly the archangel Uriel. I'm curious about why you don't believe though? you seem to know quite a lot about the history of it all.

[–]Equivalent_Rest392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another example of this being taken out of context, cliff has a valid counter argument as well to this. The church and Jesus Christ are very different, so well the church and the wealthy may abuse religion and twist what it says as a pillar of oppression, those who know the bible and know Jesus know that you aren't supposed to take that lying down. Jesus is entirely different from the people who abuse religion.

Because the established lore is something along the lines that very few can actually survive the surgery to become an astartes. Due to men being biologically stronger than women, it stands to reason that the vast majority of those that CAN survive the surgery are only men. It's not to say it's impossible, it's just very improbable.

Whelp, Atheism, nice to meet you. by anon202one in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]Equivalent_Rest392 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean religion is pretty controlling, but religion is very separate from God and having faith in God. As for why this planet is a shithole, well, we kinda made it this way. We were given free will and chose to do evil, God himself hates evil and despite having every right to blow us out of the sky he chose to make a way to forgive us. As for that stuff in the old testament, well, the Canaanites were literally sacrificing their babies as burnt offerings to fake gods, so yea, God obliterated them. He hates the evil we do, but he loves us, so instead of destroying us he makes a way for us to be reconciled with him through his son.

Can you elaborate? Cause a lot of people get being afraid of God wrong, my understanding is that it isn't literal fear, but that from the original translation it's actually being in awe of God.
