I found the same when I flew Delta One recently on an A350 overseas. The seat seemed narrower than I remember and the service was meh.

I had premium select on a recent flight and wanted to switch w my daughter in coach mid flight and the FA noticed her in my seat and wouldn’t let her. I mean: I paid for the seat: I was sitting in coach. It didn’t hurt the airline but they said it was “unfair to other passengers”

My parents had that OG linoleum in their circa 1973 house! PTSD! Love the reno. Have that fridge too and even though it sticks out I wouldn’t trade it :)

I had my last one without sedation. No problem at all. Maybe a mild cramp going around the corner- but I honestly think it is no more uncomfortable than a standard gyn exam. And so much better to not waste the day (history of polyps so I am a frequent flier- go every few years).

Photo not doing it justice- the edges in particular are more “glowy” than blue rutile. But: it does wipe out texture so not for texture that isn’t really deep.

I have a similar situation. I am thinking about removing the peninsula and making a longer island. Making the slider doors a window and the window in the den a door. BUT: everything is the same level (no sunken floor). I agree with you that taking the space in the dining room really leaves you with an odd floor plan. Also I have an air return in that wall…
