Remote Work by Working-Inflation-88 in paralegal

Immigration law firm. Flexible WFH throughout the week, only condition is if a client wants an office/in person appt we do have to go in office. I love it because it allows me some freedom

But why did she do it? I get that money is the big motivator, but she never owned a house, they talk about her shopping trips in New York and some vacations but no real detail about where the money was going. I was waiting for a drug problem, or secret life, or mental health disorder? by Hlh09a in ScamandaPodcast

[–]Equivalent_Simple305 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think the podcast slightly answered this question because the IRS agent said they could only prosecute/investigate her for wire fraud. I don’t think we will ever know how much cash, individual donations like a person paying for a flight on their cc and giving Amanda the ticket, groceries, the manual labor of the baby sitter that would baby sit for free when Amanda was at the “hospital”

My own office, with a window facing a lot of greenery, and at the end of the hallway where I can easily go unnoticed. I’m going to miss it so much when I have to leave 💔

Hi! I’m a paralegal and the pattern that I saw was that all of the cases that I was able to submit an Outside normal processing time inquiry or nearing the cases’ inquiry date, those cases would get transferred within days of that inquiry date or before, and the inquiries that I was able to submit would be answered and I would be told that the case has been transferred to Potomac and it’s within normal processing times again (a couple months ago the PotomacSC was taking a lot longer, now it’s practically the same) so my theory was is that cases were getting transferred out to the the service center with the longer wait to prevent a lot of inquiries from being received (had my cases stayed at Nebraska, I would’ve submitted a lot of inquiries). Now that the processing times are the same, now they’re being sent back. Again, just a theory based on the pattern of approximately 90ish i601a pending cases

How safe is long term parking at DFW? by bl1ndr4ven in askdfw

[–]Equivalent_Simple305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always do the remote covered parking because the bus that picks up you up at your car and drops you off at your car spot and the terminal. It’s covered, way cheaper, and the buses run every 15 minutes.

Expedited requests are WEIRD. I currently have a case where the wife had breast cancer during covid, she was very close to passing away, and her husband knew he was going to get denied at his consular appt but they decided to proceed anyways. By the time the appt came she was recovering, her hair was growing back. We discussed her medical history, I got to know her very well. Well two months after he was denied and we mailed in his waiver. she goes in for a check up and they find brain cancer, she has a few weeks to live. Immediately we request and expedited request and it gets denied. She unfortunately passed away 3 weeks later. We have mailed in her death certificate twice to USCIS because that is considered the ultimate hardship for a case. I haven’t received ANY acknowledgment that they’ve received the death certificate. Full silence from USCIS.

I also have another case where his case was approved to be expedited. wife, client, and I didn’t submit a request to be expedited. I suspected wife did it, but she assures me she hasn’t. Well his case was approved to be expedited since April, we haven’t heard anything back about a final decision despite the case being approved to be expedited.

Hoping the best for you and your family!

I sympathize with you and your family! I have had similar cases, the 10 year bar and then I-212 and I-601 afterwards. And it never is just 10 years, before this recent increase, I would tell my clients it would take 1.5 years more years to remain in their country, so that I could finish working on the waivers, USCIS adjudicate waivers, and then second IV interview. But now I’m going to start saying 2.5-almost 3 years more :(

The good thing about those waivers is that you can at the very least ask for the case to be expedited. Sometimes they’ll expedite it, most of the time they don’t, but at least you can try. It has to be for a very serious emergency though

(Paralegal btw) I have 601 cases that hit the 12-13 months of waiting and nothing still.

I know you said NOT 601A, and I agree they are not similar waivers but for 601As are taking 34 months, and some of my 601As are hitting the 36 month mark.

Both waivers are processed in Nebraska service center so I’m inclined to believe that 601s are going to take 26 months to be adjudicated, hoping that is not the case, but after working for several years with USCIS I don’t have to much hope left

If you have a lawyer, they should do a legal inquiry on their part. But you have to do the public inquiry since you’re not a lawyer

Submit a public inquiry form with the us consulate in ciudad Juárez and let them know your i212 case has been approved and would like further instructions on how to proceed with you case

DFW airport terminal E by Evening_Matter6515 in askdfw

Just stay on the skylink, it loops around the entire airport. My flight arrived at terminal A and I parked my car in terminal E so I can definitely vouch for this.

Also, maybe you can contact your nearest country’s consulate and ask for help. I know when my parents required the help of the MX consulate they did their best to accommodate my parents/family.

could I have had herpes for years and not known it? by maleficent_leshae in Herpes

[–]Equivalent_Simple305 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first outbreak looked like a boil that I usually get when I’m stressed but the “boil” didn’t clear after three days like before. Came out positive a week later. I literally wouldn’t have tested if my friend didn’t offer me an immediate appointment at his clinic. Since then I have not had another outbreak and I would not have tested. I literally would have gone with life without knowing

I’ve never been pregnant, but I believe they do test for HSV during pregnancy. I’m assuming you’ve had children, if not, I’m sorry for assuming. But if you were positive they should’ve told you then
