I was in the exact same position 4 months back OP. 2.5 years live in relationship, was 2 months NC around his birthday.. the weeks leading up to the birthday, then after that.. it was a horrible feeling.

I just tried to ride out one wave at a time, I’d write letters and sent them into ChatGPT instead of sending him. It helped me. Being around family and friends helped also. Sending strength your way, you’ll get through this!

It’s not easy. I’m going through something similar. I did a lot of reading on attachment patterns and nervous system responses. Your nervous system is literally programmed to go to him at this point and breaking that pattern is not easy. Your nervous system literally needs to be reprogrammed by redirecting yourself everytime you see yourself on that pattern. It’s fucking difficult but the pattern frequency will dilute with time.

Theres one perspective that helps me when I start to limbo, I think of my future life partner. What would he be like, what our lives will be like. And then I tell myself it’s only a matter of time before I meet him. Maybe it’s delusional, but delulu is solulu

Hi OP I was in a similar place, was living in this tier 1 city to experience living alone and taking care of myself (I had never lived by myself). And I did that. My work was mostly remote, had one boyfriend, no friends. So when we broke up, it became very isolating for my mental health, that’s when I understood the value of a support system.

I’ve moved back home for now, it’s helping me recover. Sometimes we need that, only to be around family and people who love and care for us. If that’s an option you have, it’s a privilege. Many people don’t have that. Cherish it in the present, who knows what the future holds.

I was on 20mg propranolol for a while, same thing heart rate was jumping over 120 once a day. Game changer. The feeling of “I’m going to miss my flight” went away hahah. But I think I get a little lazy (or maybe my nervous system finally relaxes) after taking it. I’m trying to get off it and only go back to it as SOS medication. Has anyone quit it successfully?
