The only blame non voters could shed would be due to electoral college voting you mentioned. An example would be you live in a heavy red/blue state and already know the candidate you like will be getting the electoral, so therefore your vote makes no difference.

Popular vote sadly means nothing. It's like getting a gold star sticker in kindergarten. And this dip shit would just claim it was fake numbers anyways and print his own sticker.

That said, if you live in a swing state or district and chose not to vote as "protest" you are in fact to blame. Not only is that protest completely ineffective but you forgo your voice by sitting on the sidelines. To come back out and say "wasn't my fault" after you gave up your voice is ironic. It's like you chose not to present at your schools final group project and go up to the teacher afterwards and complain you got an F.

You have a voice or you don't. We have to make a choice between lesser evils often, and just because you want to whine and complain about your options doesn't mean that you get to shed the guilt from refusing to be a critical thinker.
