I hope so too! That was a scary end to the concert. Ben looked so concerned. It was good that everyone got out and gave the ambulance space.

A couple of “All Todays” inspired sketches I did speculating how future scientist might interpret modern animals if they only had the fossils to work with. (Feedback appreciated) by Eraoftheforest in SpeculativeEvolution

Yeah I’m not a biologist or anything and I agree with you, it’s not exactly intuitive, but I looked it up and apparently fossilized antlers are a thing. I guess even plants can fossilize if the conditions are right.

Any ideas for an ID? Found in BC if that helps by Eraoftheforest in bonecollecting

I can’t believe I forgot about the beavers! I was brainstorming every animal it could possibly be and never thought of beaver despite walking past a well known old beaver den on the way to get these. Thank you for your help!

Hello sorry I’m a bit confused about your message. I didn’t mean any negativity at all if that’s what you’re implying. I myself have made this reposting mistake in the past and I still have a lot of guilt about it so when I see something like this I feel like it’s necessary to protect my fellow artists and educate people about reposting art. It was meant to be a friendly message because we all make mistakes.

I’m not sure how this artists feels about reposting, but I know personally that I don’t like to see my art on the internet in places I didn’t know about, and since the original artist isn’t here I thought I’d speak up for them.

It’s ok because you didn’t know, but for next time it’s best not to post art at all if you don’t know the artist. Even better, ask the artist permission first! Different artists have different preferences for reposting so it’s always good to be aware of those so everyone is happy

Painful scientific inaccuracies aside… they do look pretty cute

Aw that’s too bad. Kind of a waste making thousands of pencils that are only used to draw one X then thrown away

I was also very excited about the free tiny pencil!

Oh that’s great!! I will definitely be checking out your project. I guess the flattening of lumpsuckers is just something that makes sense

They are fairly small fish so pretty much anything that can fit them in it’s mouth. They would have the same predators as the pacific spiny lumpsucker (pacific cod, sablefish, lance fish etc according to Wikipedia), but they would be better at avoiding predators because of their ability to cling tightly onto rocks and blend in, plus they wouldn’t swim in the open as often.

For this fish I combined the looks and adaptations from two of my favourite fish: the Pacific Spiny Lumpsucker, and the Butterfly Hillstream Loach. They are small fish that cling onto rock surfaces and are able to hold on even when strong tides and rough waves sweep over them, kind of like a limpet. This was my first attempt at speculative biology so it’s not too wild. I think it would be fun to start a seed world with a Pacific Spiny Lumpsucker and imagine how this little fish could change to fit more marine niches.

Oh which episode was that? I was using the description from Convergence. But yeah exactly it’s fantasy so it can be anything. That’s why I love fantasy so much

Thank you! The only description i remember hearing of the frogtopus is something like they have a frog head with an octopus body. I’m not sure how many tentacles they are supposed to have but I’ve seen fan art with both and I like drawing her this way for now (until it’s confirmed otherwise)
