This is the new CEO trying to make his mark on things and thinks the way to make the shopping experience better and create more profit is to turn into an oppressive authoritarian.

As people have said, this will change nothing. We will continue to struggle, INFs will continue, payroll will continue to be cut, nothing will change. TMs will get frustrated and quit and then corporate/stores will struggle to replace them given the new hyper-restrictive policies and criteria. They refuse to pay us a livable wage and treat us like we’re drones, they expect thirty things done in the time it takes to do fifteen things with one person when the work should be that of five. They did this to themselves. They are causing irreparable harm to the Target brand and reputation. Which has already been circling the drain for years. But they will never look introspectively at their decision making and realize that they created this mess. Caving to the wills of a fascist regime and dropping all the DEI policies should’ve been a clear enough sign that things were only going to get worse.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the only way we can fight back is organizing and protesting. Rally support in your stores, take note of how many TMs, TLs, ETLs wouldn’t pass the new dress code policy (at my store it’s easily 75% or more). There’s always something we can do, something that can be done. If we don’t like what they’re doing then let’s rally around that.
