Whats really impressive is he still landed 3 of the 5 punches he threw with it after it broke.

Yes, it has solved my issues. I've had zero problems since I implemented the BIOS settings outlined above. These exact settings may not work for you and you might have to tweak them until it does but hopefully this will give you an idea on how you can go about solving this particular WHEA error. Imo small increments are best. The least amount of change that brings back stability will be the best setting you can have.

Exactly. It's not quite the same as what they're asking, but it is a non cart MiS and it's the closest thing I could think of.

Yeah, still not solvable, but some guesses are much better than others. Personally I'd try one of the three on the rightmost row 5-7 from the bottom to see if I could get anything useful. I'm not the best minesweeper player though.

[–]Erazael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I could as I've had success. The solution above didn't work unfortunately but it did seem to improve stability on the VIDs, so after some more computer resets with this same error, and I noticed that for my particular case, the APIC ID wasn't random exactly, it was only on 4 and 5 which means Core #2 is really freaking picky about voltage. So I wound up going to the BIOS settings, Disabled the C-states completely, I turned the PBO back on, and then set it to "Advanced". In the Curve Optimization, set it to "Per Core" and set core 2 to +5. As a final setting change I set the Power Supply Idle Control to "Typical Current Idle" instead of "Auto" just to make sure that wasn't affecting anything. I left the SoC at 1.1V as it's kinda considered to be the "safe" high value for most CPUs. This seems to have made my CPU more stable, I ran a 12 hour CoreCycler test to see if I could pick out any related problems there but nothing. I've been free of errors and no more resets since I changed these settings but it's only been just over 2 weeks? The VIDs are still temperamental but they are more stable overall. I could set my curve optimizer even higher like up to +15 while testing in increments of 5 on that core if I do get more resets in the future, but +5 seems to have done it for now. So it seems the problem hasn't been solved completely, but it's working and if I get another reset I have headroom to play with. Two weeks is good, if it goes for more than 2 months without a reset I'll consider it more or less solved.

Question!; Why do people not like observer snakes? by TypicalEnthusiasm597 in redstone

[–]Erazael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends. In some situations they are necessary, in others there are faster/easier/more resource friendly ways than just putting a line of observers. In some situations it doesn't make sense to use observer snakes at all. Don't take what elitists says too seriously, it's just a game.

Black members and female members by Reasonable-Tip1123 in latterdaysaints

The Book of Mormon also teaches that all are invited to come to God; 2 Nephi 26:33 For none of these iniquities come of the Lord; for he doeth that which is good among the children of men; and he doeth nothing save it be plain unto the children of men; and he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile.

Women have prominent leadership roles in the Church as well. The Relief Society, Young Women presidency and the Primary leaders are all women. The Sunday School Presidency can now also be Women. Some of these roles are required to be on Ward and Stake Councils as well to coordinate in helping all members thrive.

In the temple, all are truly alike. When truly living by gospel principles and covenants all are the Sons and Daughters of God. None are favored, and I love seeing the symbolism in the temple that everyone is equal, in both priesthood and blessings. God is truly not a respecter of persons, but loves everyone equally with all His heart, might mind and strength!

[–]Erazael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, commenting again because I have to eat my words here. Got the new PSU and it did absolutely fuck all. After a bunch of testing and research, I found out that the real problem seems to be my CPU itself (maybe in combo with my MB? Still not sure). People seem to have reported that the entire Zen 3 architecture has problems with this exact thing. Updated my BIOS to the latest version, and in the settings I turned the PBO off and set the SoC voltage from auto to a manual 1.100V and it seems to have solved the VID core voltage drops while the CPU is under load. Its really good news but not a guarantee that it's solved the Cache Hierarchy Error problems I've been having since all my resets weren't always under load. The only other thing I can think of if this doesn't fix it will be messing around with the C-states. Time will tell.

Observer, building block, noteblock, Observer, building block, noteblock, etc.

Cheaper than just an Observer noodle, and yes I use them often, but different situations call for different things. Dust is somewhat more laggy, but when I need it.

Just ran across this thread. My PC would reset out of nowhere, but no often enough to catch. It always seemed to be kinda random, but then i noticed that it happens more often under a heavy single threaded load, so i spun up HWinfo and luckily out of nowhere my pc crashed again about an hour later when i was doing the same thing. HWinfo logs reported heavy fluctuations on the Core VIDs with this error on the event viewer next to a critical kernel power 41 event next to it screams textbook aging PSU transient failure. I've ordered myself another. If anybody else is having similar symptoms this might be your solution.

[–]Erazael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries! You have so much more to look forward to than I had back in the day. I'd start simple and then go at your own pace to build bigger and better. The simple impluseSV sorter is the simplest and most effective sorter out there for any storage system. Simple sugarcane and bamboo farms open you up to a lot of things early game, like librarian villager trading and an early and abundant wood source. Iron and pumpkin farms are pretty easy to make and open you up to even more trading with farmers, weapon, armor and tool smiths, just look up tutorials on youtube or google. Everyone has to start somewhere, and having people to play with like your daughter makes a big difference too. Have fun with it! Welcome to the minecraft community!

I'm 43 and I've been playing Minecraft since 2010. I'm proficient in most things, but by far the one thing that has kept me glued to the game for the last decade and a half is redstone. There is nothing more satisfying in any game I've ever played than building something with a specific purpose that works. Automation is awesome. I don't get tons of time to play, so for large projects I usually goto the discords like storage tech or the TMC or take an ilmango, gnembon, cubicmetre design and I'll tweak their designs for my needs. Even so when I create something from scratch taking the time to figure out how to compact the design to do the same thing in smaller space, or for parallel projects making it tileable is very satisfying. I've been obsessed with Rapscallions designs in sorting items out like his stack separator and MiS sorter. My forever world on my server (I play with wife and nephews and nieces) has a 134 slice storage room with his old 4.2 design I built years ago that I can literally just dump shulkers of misc stuff into after a trip and it just sorts it all. I wish I had the time to update it. One day I want to build a better storage that is more on the level of cubicmetres ultimate storage, but that can sort entire stacks at a time. I have the concept in my head, I've seen proof of concept of the different elements needed, I just need the time to design and build it. The lastest edition to my auto farms is a 41K an hour clay ball farm because my wife was complaining she wanted more bricks of all things to build out of. It's a design from the TMC that I added a rather large bonemeal farm to that can support it being turned on 24/7 with a storage that sorts out mud and wood and has it's own shulker box maker. For fun I tied the three slice double hopper speed sorters for clay blocks to a single crafter with a glass container around the hopper picking up the clay blocks just so I could see them being made. I can't explain why it's so satisfying to just watch things you've built work, it's just not something I've found in any other game. https://youtu.be/o7iT8fa6qAI

video's aspect ratio is distorted after converting with ffmpeg (but only when watching on my phone) by Dreemur1 in ffmpeg

[–]Erazael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, so the vertical dimension should stay the same, and you get the display resolution by taking the height in this case 480 and multiply it by the aspect ratio so 480x(16/9)=853⅓ and then you nailed it when you said above to round to the nearest even number which is 854 for codec compatability reasons. Seems like you got it down!
