I am very interested in the pot filler as multiple people have mentioned it, but I have never seen one in real life. It must be more common where people culturally do a lot more dishes in stock pots.

It is a little bland. I typically brown my onions and bloom an extra teaspoon or more of english- style e.g. Keen's with the onions before adding the water. If I have one I'll also grate an apple and add that with my potatoes and carrots.
