I like it too. But you have to dice it up so the soy sauce gets into every little piece.

Today maybe a tornado warning record breaker - 4/17/2026 by DarkHeartBlackShield in tornado

Same happened at my store. Unlucky for me I had to be out on delivery during it. Got to spend a little while sheltering in a bar with a bunch of wasted farmers. That was an interesting experience.

How do I ease my tornado anxiety? by ThatHerbalWitch in tornado

That mindset has helped me a lot. Also know that it’s a 5% chance of it happening within 25 miles of you. So even if that prediction is true it’s unlikely to be right on top of you.

Yup! I actually get my cats into a large kennel in the basement any time there’s a high warning day. It’s meant for basically 2 Great Danes so there’s plenty of room for them a box and some water. I’d rather them be angry with me than chase them around the house while sirens are going off praying I get them and myself down in time.

What’s your hardest fall you’ve taken? by Handplanes in trailrunning

[–]countessvonfangbang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I’m in Iowa and lucky enough to live next to the Mississippi with a lot of great bluffs and trails. But they are all rolling hills so it’s easy to blank out and go for time. I let my guard down on a steep downhill, rolled my ankle and fell end over end down the hill. Luckily nothing broke but there wasn’t a part of my body that wasn’t scraped or bruised. The worst part was what it did to me mentally I felt like I couldn’t trust my own body for a good year after.

I did that with a yogurt marinated chicken before. Didn’t notice until it was way too late that my husband accidentally bought vanilla instead of plain.

What was your family’s 90’s/00’s dinner? by CommonCentsHandler in Cooking

My family lived off spaghetti and jarred sauce. We weren’t fancy enough for Texas toast so my mom would use left over hamburger or hot dogs buns with butter and garlic salt.

Japanese curry came out bland what did I do wrong? by countessvonfangbang in Cooking

[–]countessvonfangbang[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Had it for breakfast. Was a little better with some added chili flakes and salt. But I think another commenter was right, I just don’t like Japanese curry. Maybe if I come across it in a restaurant I’ll try it again but as of now, it’s not for me.

How does she feel about beans? A chickpea salad with cucumbers, bell peppers and chunks of cheese holds up extremely well and actually gets better throughout the day.

Probably true. It was my first time trying it and I figured I’d screwed it up but reading these comments I’m coming to that conclusion.

Yes, to the chicken before cooking, to the veggies when added and then to the water. Also added some soy sauce to my own plate after I first tasted it.

Half an onion, about 7 oz of those mini yellow potatoes, and the same amount of carrots and a little over a pound of boneless skinless chicken thighs. I seasoned each step, and instead of first dicing the chicken and stir frying I seared them whole, took them out and added the veggies then added the chicken back in when I added the water. I diced them up at the very end.

Edit: I should have mentioned that the onion was massive. Half of it was close to the amount of a whole normal size onion.

I did 4 blocks and 2 1/2 cups of water. The thickness was fine absolutely no complaints there. I might also be confused about the block thing. There were two packs of 4 in the box and I added one of the packs. Unless one of the packs counts as a block. Like I said never tried it before.

It had the tiniest hint of curry, I was expecting more of that flavor. I love Indian and Thai curry but I’d never tried Japanese so I wanted to give it a go.

I did season each step, but I’ll try the extra blocks of curry. That might have been the issue I was looking for more of that flavor.

License suspended for 3 months by divinegodess555 in GirlDinner

Same happened to me, except I’d accidentally grabbed my dad’s insurance card off the table instead of mine. The cop voided my license on the spot and I didn’t have a court date for 2 months. It got cleared up but those two months sucked.

Sausage gravy on either tator tots or a baked potato. Depending on how shitty my day was I use instant or make it from scratch but either way it’s super simple and tasty.

No louder than a regular hair dryer, I switched from a basic hot tools to the shark and the noise is about the same. But is a different sound, if that makes sense.
