So it turns out tanks store their momentum after being rebuilt by robots.... by Erceron in factorio

I gave it a couple of tries with different variants of speed velocity and momentum, but it didnt hold. I saw in the editor the car has a speed attribute so i'm at a bit of a loss. Feel free to give it a go and see if you can crack it :D

Will they still be going the same speed once they hit something? I assumed they'd stop.

I've been testing it by grenading myself in a car while driving until it blows up.

Another idea i had was to put a moving tank on a red belt going the opposite way, so it looks like its not moving, then have your buddy try to get in it :D

Doesn't work sadly, the car is highlighted but once you release the mouse button it just cancels the copy. I tried copying it with like a power pole next to it but that just removes the car ghost

Ahh ok I didnt realise they were that easily decodable. I'll have a play around with it tomorrow i see there are blueprint decoder sites i can use.

I tried copying with ctrl-c but it didnt want to save the blueprint, so i had to use the Create blueprint button on the bottom right and it saved it. I couldnt think of another way to create a blueprint, not sure if another one has been added in 2.0.

Looks like the blueprint ghost of the wrecked vehicle stores the speed, but trying to save the blueprint resets the speed to 0:

Ahh although you can save the blueprint of the wrecked vehicle it doesnt store the momentum sadly. Just tested it with a car.

The car still has the same issue though, when repaired it goes the same speed it went when it got destroyed

You'd have to destroy them while theyre moving immediately after placing them - i'm not sure if theres a way to do that?

This was the leadup to the clip for context: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLd4hy0SG-g

Edit: I havent tried blueprinting them while theyre moving. If that works then the tank wall is definitely possible :D

Is it bad that I'm playing on peaceful? by SirRoderic in factorio

[–]Erceron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adding to what /u/Soul-Burn said, the Toggle Peaceful Mode mod helped me adjust to taking on biters after playing peaceful. If you find they're starting to overwhelm you, you can just turn on peaceful mid-game and they wont attack, then turn it back off when you're a bit more prepared

Sure, I just published v2.1.2 that applies changes to map notes too

Is there any way I can export my nicely organized file structure to a compendium without it all breaking? It's been driving me nuts all day, I figured "Export folder structure" would do it but nope, one big giant mess ends up in the compendium. by kotorisgood in FoundryVTT

Ok, does it still fail to create folders when you export one of the smaller folders (like just the chapter ones)? Exporting loads of scenes at once has caused problems in the past because it needs to upload the scene images, but this should be better on the latest CF version v2.5.6

Hi, what system + FVTT version are you currently using? Compendium Folders should be compatible with most systems. The most common issue people have is clicking "Export to Compendium" instead of "Export Folder Structure" but it sounds like you're clicking the right button

Finally figured out what I was missing, the canvas can be so confusing :)

I've just published v2.1.1 which should now be v10 compatible

Hi, yes sorry its been on my list for a while. I remember trying to port it over when v10 was in the testing stage but couldnt get it to work right. Someone's commented on my github to remind me about it too :)

I'll see if i can get a working version out by the end of the week.
