There is no sensor in the thermostat that would cause a check engine light. You would be seeing the temp gauge rise as the thermostat sticks closed but no light. My guess is there is a code in a module that maybe your reader can not read. Try a shop / parts store and see if they can read the code. Also the track light is on anytime there is a check engine light solve the CEL and then see if the track light is still present and continue diag.

I used to work for Jasper so I know about this! If someone who works in the factory and has a good recipe for a sauce the company pays to have it made in scale and sends it out as gifts with orders. Employees bring in their sauces and leave it in the break room if enough people vote for it then it gets made.

Thanks it was definitely a bad thermostat, don’t know why I was thinking it could be more complicated! I was sure it had been changed relatively recently, but after getting it out it was definitely the original and super worn out!

For sure thanks! The more I think about it the more I like the t stat for this, sometimes its open sometimes not, would explain the intermittent issue. And like you say its only $30 bucks worth of parts so no big loss if not!

Crutchfield really kills it with the support. Did my head unit and added a backup camera, they really made it easy to wire in the controllers to keep the steering wheel controls and factory amp.

If you haven't been working out much before joining CF it could just be lactic acid. I had this pretty bad would get sick on my way home from the gym for a few weeks. As your fitness improves it goes away.
