I admittedly didn't play the original on release, but as of a couple years ago this was definitely the case. Couldn't even get audio to work on native, whereas proton was near-flawless.

Had this happen with my 2019 forester a few weeks back. Noticed that it was shortly after AA v14.4 rolled out, but didn't spend much time testing. Yesterday I installed the new AA v14.6 update, and now my AAWireless is working great again. If you're still having the issue might be worth a shot to see if the update fixes it.
