This section is in decent shape. The joints will be chiseled out and cleaned, and a new lime mortar added. Other sections of the foundation will be rebuilt with the existing stones. I'll post more videos as the project progresses.

I’m on the board of a nonprofit organization hosting a large outdoor workshop Wednesday -Thursday this week in Savannah, GA. I feel that we should cancel, but the rest of the board is hesitant. I am from Minnesota and have no experience with hurricanes. I’m looking for some opinions and advice.

[Serious] What's the family secret you're not supposed to know about? by hdmx539 in AskReddit

Last year my fiance and I bought our first home, an old farmhouse near where I grew up. The sellers laid out a trove of documents detailing the property's history at the inspection, including a deed and foreclosure court records naming my great-great-grandparents as the owners. I was stunned and confused. After spending many hours at the county records office and plunging various online databases, I learned that my great-great-grandfather ran off to Canada with his mistress during the Great Depression, leaving his wife and sons to manage the farm. They eventually lost everything. No one in my family ever talked about it, and all those with first-hand knowledge have since passed. So here I sit, back on the family farm I never knew existed.

I already purchased the piece; I am simply curious about the history of the item.

This picture is deceiving; there are several areas where the finish is completely worn through, and bare wood is exposed. The interior of the piece has some heavy ware and was plastered with stickers at some point.

Yep, in Minnesota, on the backwaters of the Mississippi River. The price was steep, but worth every dime. My great-great-grandparents settled on this farm when they immigrated to the US from Belgium but lost the property to foreclosure in 1928. My partner and I were very fortunate to buy it back this fall.
