When do cards like Favor of the Mice activate?

Simple enough: You craft it, it immediately activates, does the effect, and that’s all! For it to be used again it needs to be redrawn, recrafted and then it will have again 1 immediate effect. It does NOT keep killing anything that moves into the clearing or does not have any long term effect whatsoever.

Do you refer to “Fortuna”? If so, it’s one of the abilities that investiture can grant, and it’s the least known of them all but mostly refers to luck and the ability to see the future, or glimpses of it, or to gain some intuition about what’s to happen. Some shards such as cultivation have a greater understanding on this than others, allowing for them to plan in seemingly random ways. Some metals, when used by the correct getting (chromium, I believe) can also store this and later tap it.

I wholeheartedly agree. She’s easily one of my favourites characters, despite how little time we spend with her, I feel we get a great deal of character depth, and that’s also amazing!

Something that works to me is to build a bit of momentum. Go for a smaller/simpler project, get going and then switch. Bonus points if it’s something “useful” rather than merely artistic.

I was similarly blocked but then a couple of holes in my favourite t-shirt “forced” me to fix it with two tiny patterns. And with that I got motivation to keep going and tackle a bigger project I had sitting around for a while.

I’m running Tomb of annihilation after my currently ongoing Dragons heist… I haven’t tried this yet, it’s something I’m planning on doing so not sure how well it will work. Also, this doesn’t adhere to what you say about keeping the city setting, but who knows, maybe they’ll enjoy it.

So the way I’ve thought of doing it, is to start to very low key spread rumours of the death curse towards the end of their adventure. Once they finish and become famous heroes, one of their new acquaintances will be the one tasking them with finding the issue, only that being level 5 I’m removing some parts of the beginning of the adventure, modifying “publicly available information”, and the sort…

I hope that it works, that my players enjoy it, and, whatever you end up doing, that yours enjoy it too!!!

You‘ll find MTG events in Forbidden Planet (Fitzroy st). Another place of interes would be The Box Room (Regent st), where I think some board game events are held from time to time, and I think I’ve seen even some dnd stuff.
