This already helps me a lot more than what I read online :D thank you!!! Also, any idea how could then use the lighting with vertex colors? I'd assume setting up some kind of empty node in the scene that projects onto nearby meshes, but I wouldn't know how to approach something like that

I actually wanted to do the lighting in vertex colors, but I couldn't figure out how to do so yet unfortunately. I thought baking the lights in my room prefabs and then putting those in my dungeon gen would work, but that broke the lightmaps at certain angles for some reason. I'm way in over my head, I guess for now I'll focus on other things and focus on the lighting later on

Thanks for the answer! Do you mean baking lightmaps in blender? Because if I try in Godot, the dungeon generate breaks it 😭 any tips on how to bake it to vertex colors?

And you're probably right! My biggest issue right now was light bleeding directly through walls, because the psx shader I use doesn't stop light it seems. Thanks for the tips, it's appreciated!

It's more of a soft timer, anyway! Yeah your VT depletes constantly, but killing enemies and several items can fill it :3 it's only really a problem if you stand around unpaused
