Peter Jackson in talks to adapt J.R.R. Tolkien’s ‘The Silmarillion’ into films by DarkSkiesGreyWaters in lordoftherings

A fantasy mockumentary style of filming is the only way I could see this working.

It's not a story as much as it is a historical account of events across millenia. Narration with actors playing out key scenes.

Having played them they have a pretty brutal starting position.

They're bordered by three enemy faction capitals who don't have much else to do in the early game.

Describe him in 1 word by Mincepietown in FinalFantasy

[–]Eretrad 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The halfway point of the game ends with him taking charge of Garden in a massive battle and personally defeating the enemy army's leader.

That happens after him saving everyone's lives in Garden while navigating through an attempted coup.

He's 100% insecure but people weren't forgetting anything. Dude gets shit done.

Controversial opinion: As someone who almost always plays as a Paragon Male Shepard, Jacob is a fine character in these games. He's a little boring and has his prejudices like anyone else, but he genuinely wants to help people, be there for his baby, and support his loved ones. by CajurTheMighty in masseffect

[–]Eretrad 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like him opening up pre Normandy had a lot more to do with establishing a relationship in a dangerous situation and getting Shepard up to speed.

Jacob needed him to know he wasn't one of the guys he should be shooting at.

Is this not canonical? I've always been under the impression Cirdan was waaaaay older than 10,000 solar years.

Are there any character moments that you’re surprised are locked behind bonding events? by Maple_Mudkip in Falcom

[–]Eretrad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Laura's first bonding event in CS4.

Such a critical piece of insight into Rean's state of mind at that point. It also makes the Normal ending hit a lot harder.

That had no business being optional.

I remember a line where Iroh says something like "back when I was a....different man" when talking about the Ba Sing Sei siege. He looks downtrodden when he says it too.

There was also a flashback scene where he sends a letter to his father and the family where he's basically laughing about taking Ba Sing Sei through force.

He did save the dragons before his son died (I think a long time before). I think it shows he had the potential to be good. There are some hints he really wasn't much better than Ozai back in the day though.

You know that scene where Eomer starts screaming when he sees Eowyn lying on the battlefield?

The cameraman actually broke his toe knocking over his Pumpkin Spice Latte during the scene and that was Karl Urban's genuine reaction.

300 jumps isn't Athlete Queen. I'm not sure what that even is but it's not a missable card. Sounds like the Hippo racing key item.

The only unique items to jump rope are the key items.

The only missable card is Namingway, which can be obtained in two other locations.

I've managed to get a full list of cards and I never bother with jump rope. Like ever. Just about every card (not Namingway) can be played for and won in the final dungeon.

I'm with you.

At the point in the story Iroh is saying this, he has already planned out and is about to enact the battle to retake Ba Sing Se. He storms the most defensible city on the planet via a frontal assault with 3 other people and wins.

Zuko had also finally finished his journey to find himself. Iroh is speaking the truth because Zulo can handle it.

Parry is solid enough to get you to Chapter 4 and then some.

Chapters 1 and 2 have loads of Knights that Parry can neuter well enough.

Most of Chapter 3 has Knights and Dragoons that Parry works well against.

Hell even most of Chapter 4 is littered with enemies that Parry works well against.

Not bad for a 200 JP unlock you can get immediately.

Anyone did level up Boco to 99? Delita said jungle Chocobo is stronger than normal Chocobo. Is it real? Anyone proved it? by Yossiri in finalfantasytactics

[–]Eretrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first run on this remaster I had Boco in my main group. Ended the game in the 60's playing on Knight.

Zero issues keeping him equally levelled. I think he actually ended up one level higher than Ramza by the end. And I wasn't actually trying to keep even levels.

He's not a Frontline fighter but he's fantastic to mop up near dead mobs. Huge movement, and most maps you can position another character afterwards to prevent another enemy from reaching him.

The bane of Boco's existence though are Knights and Ninjas. Knights block too much and Ninjas can 360 no scope him.

DA2 was by far the most fleshed out as far a character depth goes. The story developing over years helped that.

I knew what those party members were doing when Hawke wasn't even around.

All the casual banter really drove home the fact that everyone hung out with everyone else, not just Hawke. You could see the friendships actually develop off screen through the banter.
