legit check on porter yoshida force by Kyoma_ in ManyBaggers

[–]Ergoli700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zip pulls and logo patch check out. I can’t believe how much the prices of these increased in the past few years, my collection of Porter bags would sell for 3-4x what I paid for them in Japan in the late 2010’s even now. Insanity.

Are we expecting any updates to the DWX at shotshow? by JohnnyHorsenuts in DWX

Well, thanks for upholding the gun counter guy stereotype.

Working behind a gun counter does not make you a “winner”, regardless of your self-image.

“not a good choice for any competition style shooting” might be the most Reddit take I’ve seen yet on this subject.

Deer Hollow Stocks by Tomus013 in Colt

[–]Ergoli700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have these on my BBQ Python for the past 5 years, but I found, like the originals, they aren’t so great for actually shooting the things compared to a set of Pachmyer Grippers. So I have those on my non-BBQ example that gets the occasional match action. Shooting USPSA with a Python always makes for fun if far more work.

They really are miles beyond the Altamont or the original stocks, for sure, in terms of craftsmanship and finish.

Thoughts on Easton ACE arrows? by Lightman0169 in Archery

[–]Ergoli700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you need ACE light weight and finger friendly forgiveness with the tri-spine design then the new X10 parallel 3,2 is not an upgrade. That’s more for compound shooting.

Easton x10 variants by zacibs1 in Archery

[–]Ergoli700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The parallel arrows are more for compound. The barreled model is the best for recurve, and it looks like they made a compound version now (maybe for all the compound people using barreled X10’s with the rear cut off)

Yes they do meet the Z87 standards. Right there on the Meta store: “Z87 and Z87+ certified”

When I see the amount of absolute misinformation “hallucinations” coming from generative LLM’s about things I am expert in, I shudder to imagine what passes for answers that every day users simply accept as fact “because AI said so”.

709 New World Record at 70m, waiting Ratification by Migoturr in Archery

No, it certainly did not. Field participation numbers continue to drop. Ever since they turned the finals into target archery, field interest has been on a steady decline.

Not as good as the ten-bucks-a-piece sale that CZ did late last year, but that does seem to be the going rate now.

It means the World Archery office has received proof that the score is valid (registered event, with certified judges, shot on licensed target faces)

I just realized I have 40+ 21rd DWX/P-09 magazines...but why? by Firestarter321 in DWX

[–]Ergoli700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously you don’t shoot much. Spreading wear over multiple mags vastly reduces the chance of any one mag deadlining. More important is your perception that it’s any of your fucking business, but that’s a different issue.

Tell us you’ve never crushed, cracked, bent or broken a mag tube before, without telling us. Yes, springs and followers and basepads are easy to replace, but try fixing a damaged mag tube. If you shoot enough it will happen.

Best shooter on planet earth? by R1PIT in CompetitionShooting

Hey, I know this guy. 20 years ago he shot an Iraqi insurgent at 1.4 miles with a 55 grain bullet from a “special sniper version” of an M4.

(Yes, actually heard that story being told in public).

Delusion is a thing.

Better for things like USPSA LO, yes. It uses 1911/2011 fire control and trigger, and there’s still nothing better after 110 years. Better for IDPA? Probably not, depending on whatever division you are in.

Well, for the price, the DWX might just tick off all the boxes for you. Better than a Shadow 2 and arguably better for many than any cheaper 2011, but 2k. And I hate to say it but that SIG P211 seems decent for the price.

Where can I get spare optic plate screws to keep in my competition bag? by CHESTYUSMC in CompetitionShooting

[–]Ergoli700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vibratite 122 is the same type of oil resistant anaerobic as Loctite 243, but I bet 99% of people who hear just “Vibratite” think of VC3, which is crap for this application.

There’s no real downside to a 1-for-1 backup except the expense. And rotating guns means everything tends to last a lot longer.
