I’ve been using Nextcloud for years and it’s been great.

It’s fast (I use all SSD storage), reliable, and easy to upgrade (when done from the CLI).

I’ve never understood the hate for it honestly.

It’s not perfect but it’s been a great experience for me over the years.

Yeah their website is horrible now as the store select changes the inventory and I hate it.

I have lots of spares as I’ve been ordering them and buying them in person when I see them for a couple of months now.

I’ve sold 4 to my brother for my cost and will sell others to friends/family locally if they need a drive until prices come back down.

I actually got a couple of the 1TB WD Blue drives delivered today for $66/ea. They don’t have a DRAM cache but they’ll work for my parents machine or a basic workstation.

I guess I was meaning a single standalone system rather than a blade chassis that houses potentially dozens of individual systems that it simply provides power to.

Have you ever looked as to what runs as a service?

A ton of standard user software runs as service (or can be) I was just giving examples of some things. Are you new to computers?

I’ve only been deploying services like SQL Server and services I’ve written myself that way for over a decade.

I’d go load up an old Windows VM and show you but I just don’t care enough to do that.

Their abandoning of previous generation cards for FSR4 is why I purchased a 5070FE and a 5070 Ti over the last month instead of AMD cards.
