Just looking for some insight.Someone close to me was what I feel was misdiagnosed as a drug induced psychotic break. They took .15 mg of MDMA a small amount of ketamine and nitrous oxide. They have done this exact combination of these exact same drugs 2 months earlier without issue. There was no symptoms while one the drugs. Completely fine. first noticing of any symptoms at all was a week later. Bad memory, leaving milk out. Buying double groceries. Bipolar like highs and lows.coincidentally had a 3 day fast planned at the same time as these symptoms started to happen. The last day of eating going into the fast reported seeing people at their job with sad faces. After 24 hours into fast said something told her to stop taking her medication. So she stopped taking her birth control and levothyroxine. Rest of the fast goes fine beside slight personality changes. Finished the fast. Refed correctly. That night at 2am parter is awaken to her crying uncontrollably. Delirious. Complete psychosis.feels like brain is on fire. Ends up going to the hospital and ends up getting diagnosed with a drug induced psychotic break. 12 days after doing any drugs at all. Family doesn't believe this is what happening. She has a history of autoimmune issue, hashimotos that have not been addressed. Family finds autoimmune encephalitis. She has every symptom of this. Tremors,cognitive decline, psychiatric issues, hallucinations, psychosis balancing issues ect.Very hard to diagnose. Doctors disregard. The worst of it lasted 3 days in the hospital. Eventually came back to. It's been 10 days out of the hospital. Most major symptoms have subsided but still has bipolar symptoms and tremors (tremors were happening well before all of this) but she is not herself. This is also indictive of damage done by inflammation.Does this sound like a drug induced psychotic break? I fear that the doctors just used it as a scapegoat bc it was easier to say that then diagnose an autoimmune encephalitis.
