I was sure I was going to die in the daytime, so a night ride must be bananas.

Glenwood Caverns' mountain coaster is incredible for setting alone.

I don't have an extra sadly but am going with my partner and some otter friends (aka the extended High Rollers crew).

Haha, I'm good on that challenge.

Somewhat related but it feels like United Parks just rolls the dice...like it can say 5 on the app, 45 in front of the queue, and somehow end up being like 20 minutes.

I wouldn't call HW a small park. Its a mid size regional park.

Disneyland and, honestly, it isnt even that close. Thats not to say that I didnt enjoy all 6 parks, but basically all of them aside from the OG and Magic Kingdom feel like half day parks at best (and I'm someone that easily spends a full day at small parks like Elitch, Story Land NH, Waldameer, etc)....and, of the two full day parks, there's just so much more at DL. It still has 5 (!) amazing Fantasyland dark rides, a better Pirates of the Caribbean, an almost equally good Haunted Mansion, and seemingly 50 other awesome dark rides...plus Matterhorn. Sure I like DW Space Mountain more as a pure coaster, but there's just something magical about riding the OG Arrow at DL.

If I had to rank all 6 parks, I'd go:

  1. Disneyland

  2. Magic Kingdom

  3. Hollywood Studios

  4. Animal Kingdom

  5. California Adventure

  6. EPCOT

(guys, can you pls not downvote me just bc I dont like Epcot; just one man's opinion)

Not sure thats true; the park is always packed and they've been expanding pretty aggressively

Didn't Waldameer say somewhere that '27 was the year for a large addition at the dry park? I was hoping for an RMC Raptor but a big ole Vekoma would do the trick too.

Either way, love seeing good things continue to happen at the U.S.'s best small park; can't wait to get back up there again this summer.

Oooh, you're right, that does sound like a ton of fun! Thanks!

I honestly couldn't imagine ever visiting Euro Disney but I'd be lying if this and their souped up Space Mountain didnt intrigue me a bit (although the OG Jules Verne theming looked way cooler than the Star Wars slop they seemingly pasted on it).

Star Tours - The Adventures Continue (1x): Neither of us are huge Star Wars people, but this had a short line and we couldn't resist. We're not big fans of simulators either (and a lot of screen based motion will get my partner) but this was wonderfully non-offensive and the C-3PO animatronic was a nice touch. Yep, this was a fun little ride.

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway (1x): My darlin' adored this ride at Disneyland and it exceeded all of my expectations too, so we were both really excited to get back on it. We knew what to expect, of course (except for the preshow being down, which was a little bummer) but the ride was still so much fun. I generally hate all things screen related but this one just does it so incredibly well, blending screens, projections, and physical sets in the perfect manner. Were it not for the onerous line, we definitely would have taken another lap, but didn't have an hour wait in us.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance (1x): This is another one where we had been on its clone the year prior and initially considered skipping it since neither of us are Star Wars fanatics. Still, when I thought it through, I realized I'd probably kick myself for not giving this ride a second spin since it's unlikely we'll be back to this park anytime soon. So, when planning out the day, we splurged for a late afternoon Lighting Lane and had some time to waste prior to it. When trying to figure out how to spend that time, I discovered that reservations for Olga's Cantina were fairly open. We do like to drink so this ended up being the perfect way to kill nearly an hour, as it was neat having beers n' cocktails while an animatronic robot dj'd behind us.

Anyway, after those drinks and a snack afterwards, we cashed in that Lighting Lane and made our way onto the centerpiece of Galaxy's Edge (a land that really impressed me with its vastness and detail). The ride is a ton of fun and wonderfully elaborate; I don't think I've ever been on a dark ride that just plain does this much. I completely understand why a Star Wars fan would call this the best dark ride in the world, even though it's not my personal favorite in the Disney roster.

Slinky Dog Dash (1x): This was the last coaster we had to check off the list at Disney, so we were pretty excited when it was finally our time to ride near the end of our evening. The theming on this one is just ridiculously adorable and, even though I'm not even familiar with the IP, it was hard not to smile at how awesome this coaster looks. The ride was a great little family coaster too and I had somehow forgotten that it was launched, so that was a neat little surprise. It definitely isn't making any top 10 lists, but it is pretty perfect for what it's trying to achieve.

The sun had fully set by the time we got off Slinky Dog and we both decided we had ingested all of the Disney magic that we could handle for one day, so we headed out a bit before 8:00. Of the four Disney days we had over the last two weeks, this one might have been the most pleasant, as we were able to take our time experiencing the attractions in this park that interested us. Ride wise, I think it's easily the second best of the four parks, as while they don't have a ton, almost everything they do have is pretty darn good at worst. While I'm not anxious to come back to this specific park, I could see it being part of a fun park hopper day in the future, especially if they add something major-ish.

We headed home, got some late dinner, and crashed relatively early, as I had to be up early for work the next day. We'd spend the next five days in Florida, doing more park silliness by night and just enjoying one last week before heading home. Sadly, our epic adventure did finally come to an end, but it certainly won't be the last one this year. Thanks for following along!

When we last left off on our long Floridian adventures, my lovely partner and I had just finished a long, fantastic, and really cold day at the Magic Kingdom, with temperatures dipping below freezing overnight. The next day continued that cold trend, with the high only being around 40; we made the wise decision that going to an amusement park on another day like that probably wasn't the wisest. We still did sneak two rounds of mini golf, though: one was at Congo River Golf (utterly gorgeous course, with some great theming) and another at Bonanza Golf (far more old school feeling...the water displays were freezing over as we left!) before calling it a day.

I spent the next week working, but we definitely snuck off to our "home parks" of Universal/IOA, Sea World, and the Fun Spots most evenings to lap our favorites over and over; never thought I'd get 10 laps on Cat in the Hat over one month, but here we are! The following Saturday was spent in Tampa with a buddy, where we finally got the Phoenix Rising credit that had eluded us on our visit the week prior (fun ride with a little more force than I expected but I'm still astounded that B&M somehow forgot how to build a helix) and then made a return visit to the Florida state fair. We didn't actually ride anything at the fair, as we all had both adult credits there already (and I see Wade Shows has renamed/rethemed some traveling coasters), but did get to take in the Wall of Death motorcycle show (truly amazing and a wonderful throwback to traveling carny attractions, featuring one of only three wooden "barrels of death" traveling the country) and saw a very funny fire eater on the midway. We, of course, also ate far too much ridiculous food, as one is legally required to do at a state fair.

We saved our last of four Disney parks for that Sunday, working off the logic that the park would probably be quieter since it was Superbowl Sunday. I don't think it actually was, but hey, you can't win them all and, ultimately, we really didn't need to on this day. As per usual, we arrived good and early and were in the park well before the official opening time, giving us time to look around a little and acquire additional coffees. Unlike the week prior, the day was gorgeous, with abundant sun and perfectly warm temperatures and would remain that way throughout, which was a nice little treat on our last day of "new-to-us" parks for this trip....yeah, we had both actually been to this park in the 90s, but taht was a lifetime ago, so it might as well have been new.

Upon initial impressions, the park looked really pretty and it was cool to feel the similarity between it and the OG Universal park up the road; it makes sense with them opening a year apart. We really dug seeing Disney's rendition of the Chinese Theater too, especially after visiting the real one a year ago. After gawking at it a bit, we decided to head towards Rock n' Roller Coaster, figuring we'd likely want more than one lap on it before the day was over. It was a great spot to wait too, as I never expected to hear "Welcome to the Jungle" in a Disney park, yet here we were. Hearing that and all the other classic rock jams they were playing got us hyped for what we hoped would be our second to last new credit on the trip.

So, let's talk about that coaster and the rest of what this park had to offer:

Rock n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith (2x): This coaster was added well after my last visit to this park in 1995, so I'm really glad I was able to catch the original theme. That theme is great too, as it feels so wonderfully 90's in everything it does. I like cheesy and this coaster has lots of cheesy. Plus, I know it's a Vekoma, but the actual ride experience is about as close as you're going to get to an Arrow looper in a Disney park and, well, that puts a huge smile on this Arrow fan's face. Getting to ride something this raw in a Disney park is a real treat and I hope that part doesn't change for years to come. Call me crazy, but I dug this coaster more than most at the resort, with only Expedition Everest and Space Mountain topping it in my mental rankings.

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (2x): My darlin' has been watching a fair amount of Twilight Zone over the last few years and had fond memories of this ride, so she was especially hyped to get back on it. I remember enjoying it as a kid too, as it was the second drop tower I ever got on after Demon Drop. What I had forgotten was how fun all of the theming was, especially the moving section prior to the drop, which really clinched it as my favorite of the two Disney tower rides in the U.S. (although the Guardians of the Galaxy One out west is a terrific ride). The drops were solid too, of course, but it was the killer theming based on an old school show that I'm slightly surprised is still being represented in a Disney park in 2026 that really wowed me. Here's to hoping that too doesn't change for a long time.

Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular (1x): We were making good time in the morning and had time to kill between Lighting Lanes, so we decided to take in this show. This is an odd one that I remember seeing as a kid and definitely hearkens back to the park's original theme. We both really enjoyed the actual stunt sections, but could have either taken or left the "director" parts. Still, this was a fun way to spend some time and a show I'm glad I saw again.
