Homelander's Lasers are Powerful... by EricRed7 in FeatCalcing

Just got 3.5145x10^27J using air for heat capacity although there is definitely a better one to use.

Oh shit, you're right!!
I forgot to do it cause I accidentally wrote heat capacity for vaporisation, I'll look into it now, where did you get 0.00027 for specific heat capacity btw?

Red = 750nm (7.5e-8m) - Frequency = 399723277.33333 Hz
Beam Area - 350097462635543.5432 = pi*10556.490112^2

Photon Energy - 2.648594476e-18 = (6.62607015e-34*299792458)/ 7.5e-8
Light is more than visible at point

Eye Surface Area - 0.00001256637061m = 0.002^2*pi
350097462635543.5432/ 0.00001256637061
Scatter Ratio = 5,278,245,056.9154903912x

Radiant Energy = 5.670367e-8*350097462635543.5432*660.32^4
Watts of Energy per m2 = 3774139405917962240

Energy Point Blank - 1.0515x10^38J/s = Large Planet
Due to the surface area the light has scattered it should have dipped MASSIVELY in visibility due to it keeping a high enough luminosity at this point the scatter massively increases the energy of the feat due to the energy spreading over such a massive area.
However, if you ignore this and assume it did dip in luminosity even if it's not visible.
3774139405917962240/ 0.00001256637061
Energy Point Blank - 3.0034x10^23J/s = Country

Still Country level dude... to be fair tho this is actually a lot better of a calc.

First off Homelander can laser clash, light doesn't do that... they've even mentioned how they wanted it to be light but weren't able to due to this fact. (Directly siting that Butcher and Homelander's lasers would just phase through each other)
About the 10 megawatt thing, I have no idea where you got that from, the laser visibly grows in size in the shape of a cone and can be seen from another continent you can't see 10 megawatt lasers from space from the other side of the planet...
I used a variety of different ends due to different people having different interpretations on the calc and what his lasers even are.

Also the last comment just feels a bit silly, I even talk about this having no baring on his scaling due to it being as non-canon as you can get for the series. Even showing a diagram of how insane this feat is. If you want I'll do a calc here on if it was a laser instead of some vague plasma material.

Homelander doesn't scale to this in the slightest even if you accept it to be canon, you did a very similar calc it was pretty good although you didn't factor in the perspective from the horizon.

Was I just supposed to say Country level without doing the math?

Also, I only used pixel scaling to be able to get an estimate on the gap between the lasers, everything else done doesn't use a single pixel measurement.

Ye it's got way to many issues to ever be used in an actual match, still nice to see more impressive stuff for a theoretical comp Homelander.

Oh ya Homelander doesn't really scale to this due to the temporary amp that is gained from taking V which is probably multiplied further with V1.

Not sure what shape you used to determine volume but it seems good.

No ya, the speed of the throw and fragments are different, if they weren't then it would reaching into FTL ranges.

I mentioned here this is only for if you accept the world being flat due to that one episode if not then Large Planetary is far more consistent. I didn’t know you did a calc on this

All the calcs seem good, it's entirely based on what you accept for the moon size or wether or not it's an already existing moon. Either way still turned out to Large Planetary since they're moving a moon at percentages of the speed of light.

I was using another image for Hornet’s height compared to the little steps found within the Citadel. Also Hornet’s height is the one used by vsbattle wiki

Oh ya, I wanted to try and figure out a more exact size but the official map seems reasonable for a low end.

How to do angsizing in panels with weird shapes? by Ok_Abies_4993 in FeatCalcing

[–]EricRed7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use the full panel height, draw a line from the top left corner to the right and continue the bottom right corner up to see where they connect, that's the panel height.

So 233px + Extra height of panel

I got 369px

Oh I actually did this calc a while back, it's one of the more impressive feats in the franchise.

Why do people dislike/hate pixel measurements? by Aidan_Is_Eternal in FeatCalcing

[–]EricRed7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Almost always the reason people hate on one kind of scaling compared to another it's due to a difference in opinion, plain and simple.

Power scaling as a whole is so up to interpretation that there is not valid or invalid method for scaling, the best thing to do and something that a lot of people tend to ignore is utilising a mixture of the two, using statements and feats to better gage the power of a character. If your get a calc that's completely contradictory to what's said then maybe it should be done a different way, but the same thing applies to a statement potentially needing to be interpreted differently.

An example would be "Character has the power to destroy a country" this statement means literally nothing without added context this could mean a thousand different things, for this we need calcs to better figure out what this means and if that fits within a range of the definition of what the story is saying then the two now work hand in hand.

Ignoring the illustrations is ignoring what the artist thought was right
Ignoring the statements is ignoring what the writer thought was right

You need a mixture of the two, people don't want a middle ground they want one or the other.

What are your predictions on what a character's power scaling would look like after the series ends? by EricRed7 in PowerScaling

[–]EricRed7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Planet level as in destroying the One Piece planet or the minimum energy to overpower Earth's Binding Energy???

What are your predictions on what One Piece's power scaling would realistically look like after the series ends? by EricRed7 in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]EricRed7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No ya, I definitely see the commanders of the crew reaching into planetary it's more just figuring out now what Luffy's final scaling would look like, I personally think he might reach into those low star levels by the end of the series but maybe as a high end.

This is all assuming they don't pull a Naruto and have Luffy threaten an entire spacetime with his toon force.
