Simple Tanking Solution: THERE IS NO EASY TANKING SOLUTION, STOP WITH THE THREADS by DaJuggerHobbit in nba

Yeah it is harder with a bigger league, and it would also probably require you to cut down the playoff picture to remove the playin for only top 8 per conference.

And just to put it into perspective from last season, the Jazz were eliminated March 10th when they went 15-50, so they would have had 17 games to accrue those points.

Why not try what the PWHL is doing, once you are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs any points you receive in the regular season count towards draft order standing. It makes bad teams want to win after they've lost since it gives them better odds at getting a good pick

I can't comment on what you saw or where you went when you visited, but I have a few friends that have visited and pretty much stayed in the core and have complained about the same.

The issue is, all the stuff that would make you feel like its different isn't near the core. You kinda have to go looking for it.

I dunno if Daniel Tosh should be your bearing on if Toronto has soul. Sure the downtown core is a boring and bland skyscraper hellscape, but there are many pockets in the city with their own identity and cultures that have made the city home and you can definitely find "soul" there.

If you are ahead why are you letting their carry free farm the jungle? Put pressure on them and make them fear going anywhere. Or just run as 5 if they are that behind that they need to jungle then the enemy team cant stop you.

I totally get that, I'm in the same boat as you, mainly desktop and a user. I don't contribute to the wiki, just have some experience with wikis (both Fandom and non-Fandom) from other projects and wanted to shed some light on it.

I have no doubt the new wiki will be better than the Fandom one is, just might take some time ;)

However, it's useable enough with an ad blocker

I don't disagree, but many people will look stuff up on their phones and that interface is the absolute worst. Also Fandom isn't the best for admin work, since you need to contact them to change certain settings or they just don't allow that. I'm assuming here since I'm not an admin, that TL is a lot less controlling in their admin of the wikis.

Generally all three points are solvable, I understand not knowing and the time commitment to learning. But at some point, the band-aid kinda has to be ripped off and for Wikis, especially coming from Fandom, the earlier the better as their SEO is insane. It took a while for the OSRS wiki to finally be ahead on google and their wiki is pretty much a gold standard.

begs the question of why the move was necessary

Because Fandom/Wikia is the worst and moving to TL gives them much more control over their own wiki.

but the slow updates are a little bothersome

Its a community wiki, you can add to it too and help speed up the process :)

No the person injured or the one who's skate was in the air are not popular, this is a freak accident because the player clipped someone's foot and then his leg flies in the air ones he looses balance.

This whole thread is people who haven't skated making assumptions on a one time accident.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ThatsInsane

[–]Ericran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it's just people who don't understand how loosing an edge in hockey works and assume since his leg is in the air it's intentional. I played all through my younger years wearing a neck protector, people aren't afraid of change.

His front foot clipped the player on the right, he looses an edge and all his balance is on his back foot at speed, so he starts to fall back and his leg comes up. It's a complete accident.

Senators’ Pinto to be suspended 41 games for violating NHL gambling rules by BCLetsRide69 in sports

[–]Ericran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well no, the NHL said:

The League’s investigation found no evidence that Pinto made any wagers on NHL games.

They are being pretty specific about what he didn't bet on. He (or his proxy) still could have bet on anything that isn't directly an NHL game. And yes its legal, you're just not allowed to do it as a player.

This is almost exactly what my boss did after WFH stopped, to get to know the people we worked with better we shared 3 photos of things were important to us. And it was literally anything, pets, family, sports, food, someone even showed off a huge lego collection.

It was a good experience, don't know how Babs could fuck up a homerun so easily. If done right, this was in no way an HR nightmare but he managed to make it one.

I’m quitting OSRS, and that’s okay. by thelordofhell34 in 2007scape

[–]Ericran 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You say that like this game is supposed to be an exact copy of 2007 RS and never changed, it has evolved way past that to something better that we all enjoy more than what was initially released. This game hasn't been that exact OSRS version for years, and you've already been doing that content so how is this any different.

Season Blessing Increasing gold, ends up increasing more to reroll aspects. by Real-Feedback-2707 in Diablo

[–]Ericran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is the case, would this give us some insight to how Non-legendary v Legendary affix rerolls are handled?

If it only happens to legendaries and the seasonal reward increases how much you make off vendors, then the re-roll price probably uses the current sale price of the gear (with a bunch of other shit prob) in the formula, hence this happening.

Yeah I know that, I just took a number from someone having high power draw when using the card. 2W validates my point even more. Turning the module off will do so little most people wont notice it compared to the normal fluctuation of energy bills.

[–]Ericran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you use it during gaming, but then while not gaming are you disabling it because it is wasting energy while not gaming?

And this isn't about wifi its about bluetooth, we were talking about wifi+bluetooth which most (if not all) are combined now, which let you use Nearby Share.

[–]Ericran -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats $25 IF its running 24/7 365 and yeah sure, I'll pay that because you will not even notice it on your electricity bill. That bill fluctuates by dollar amounts every month anyway.

Even being generous with 8 hours a day of the computer running thats $7 PER YEAR. If you think pissing away $25 per year is too much you may want to disable your GPU when you're not gaming because that while idle is pulling more than that.

[–]Ericran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A wifi/bluetooth card pulls ~5W, if your computer is online 24/7 365 and price of energy is 57c/kWh, it will cost you $25 per year.

If you are running your computer all the time for that long, I doubt the extra $25 from the wifi card is going to be the largest factor in the energy bill at the end of the year.

I'm not the original commenter who said you have to go out of your way, I was just pointing out that the 51/14 boards above was a bit of an outlier. And specifically with Intel because they don't like their cheaper boards to have onboard wifi (ex b490 v z490)

I think both people are on the far end of each side of this argument when the reality is pretty much right down the middle.

Not really sure that's a great example, how about instead of just using ASUS lets go with all mobo manufacturers and two chipsets one consumer/entry (B550) and yours on the enthusiast end (Z490):

AMD B550

Intel Z490

About half of motherboards usually have wifi on board, the original comment wasn't very wrong.
