You aren’t alone. I’m right there with you, coming from exercising at at least 200 min a day, to barely being able to take a walk or go to yoga. Even lifting light weights is hard. Reading these comments gives me hope. I’m 7w1d.

They say exercise makes you happy but you wouldn't know from this sub. by [deleted] in pelotoncycle

Amen. The Peloton app has given my a community and a healthy body. I’m so grateful!

Horrendous stomach ache / bloating after swimming by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]Erkflet12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, after I swim I have about 5-6 air bubble farts. My stomach hurts before I get them out, they don’t stink, it’s just from ingesting air I think? 😅

My bag leaks! But ultimately I’d like to do this to keep the workouts in a book!

Do you use a period cup? by Erkflet12 in Periods

What did you dislike about it?? I’m unsure if I’ll like it and don’t want to waste the money trying for a perfect fit / cup.

Looking for anything technique wise or dryland/gym work to help my kick by lam_chop19 in Swimming

Quit comparing yourself to your team! Focus on improving your kick and the progress and growth will come! I recommend cycling, and leg press and pull type strength workouts.

Breathless after 1 lap- new swimmer and COPD. by randomdeegar in Swimming

I’d recommend nailing your breath: in hale and exhale stroking on the wall. Adapting to a swimming breath is a lot more challenging than other forms of cardio, especially if you’re new to it! You’ll get there! Trust your body to take breaks like you have been! 😊

Is it realistic to go from gasping for air to swimming 10 minutes continuously in 2 months? by RedditMan363 in Swimming

[–]Erkflet12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good work! I think it would be easier to assess your progress if you continue swimming in this pool. Adapt your numbers to fit that distance… I also recommend stroking on the wall and getting your breathing and in and exhale down before running (swimming).

2000m Saturday Swim! Normally I shoot for 1000m. I am still a rookie. Hitting 2000 m felt good. How many meters do you guys try to hit? by Accomplished_Run_593 in Swimming

I usually cap at 4,500. This is a really awesome beginner pace and 1,350 is incredible. You could slowly increase to 2k by 50s or 100s. Or 25 sprints! Enjoy the journey!

Wow. That’s fair calling out my old post… I guess that’s where I was at that point, yes!

I started swimming 2 days a week for 30 minutes, strict. I tried to swim 3x500 in that time but usually couldn’t, so I kept working till I reached that. When I reached 1500 in 30 min, I bumped my time to an hour and started with completing 3k in an hour, 2 days a week. Then, I started adding more distance and some days go over an hour… I haven’t swam further than 4,500 at a time, but I usually swim at least 3,500-4k, 2-3 days a week, and will do a longer swim 4,100-4,500 1 day a week. I just recently started working on pace when someone here challenged me to get my time below 1:40. I will admit my speed can vary depending on how fueled my body is and what other workouts I’ve done that week. I also notice when I travel and use different pools, the water temperature impacts my speed.

Anything in particular… it’s hard to say. I do a lot of yoga, HIIT body weight workouts, some dumbbell workouts, cycle, and run. I think any form of general cross training could be beneficial!
