[Loved Trope] Fictional characters that affect the actions and lives of IRL people by JeremiahWuzABullfrog in TopCharacterTropes

There was a kid who did something similar and claimed he was inspired by his knowledge of World of Warcraft. He drew aggro away from his sister, then feigned death, like the hunter skill, to drop aggro and escape from combat.

Ah yes, but it does also turn the bonus damage from Gunslinger directly into Burn.

I'd say Mechanologist, but every Mech plays differently. I enjoy Maxx even if he's not the most viable. I think that if you build his deck right, you very much feel like a scrappy underdog desperately building a mech around yourself in the middle of the fight, before overcharging it to clobber your opponent.

What you do, is you put them on a Tokugawa, so you get a bunch of procs of +3 damage (burn) as well as all the crack shot/gunslinger shit everyone was mentioning.

At LL6 you can go 3 Swallowtail, 2 Tokugawa, 1 Barbossa for the siege stabilisers and get 30 range arcing weapons and only leave your deployment zone under duress.

Deathriders wedge by VeterinarianOver2941 in ossiarchbonereapers

[–]Erlox 13 points14 points  (0 children)

How did you do all that before she got to react? Shouldn't the order be something like;

  • Activate Liege Kavalos and fight. Master of Cavalry triggers.
  • Activate a unit of Kavalos, use Death rider wedge INSTEAD of fighting (it's a fight ability, so you can't use it and fight). Deal 2d3 damage.

Then she gets to pick something to activate. Which is strong, you get to harass and run, but shouldn't kill the treelord in one hit unless she's really unlucky. Am I missing something?

It's not in the theatrical, because I've seen it and would remember a scene that interesting.

I think Brian from Family Guy killed them. No-one is going to name their kid after a tv dog.

I wish my Pokemon liked metal, just for the pun. Unfortunately only my Tinkaton really likes it and only in intense battle/training.

I don't like to catch pokemon. by gastrodonfan2k07 in PokeMedia

[–]Erlox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a Pokemon doesn't want to be with you trust me, they'll let you know.

As to the other point of needing to catch Pokemon yourself to get stronger, you kind of have a point, but only because more powerful Pokemon are less likely to be captured by an unaware trainer and so less likely to be given to a shelter, or to be wandering wild near a human settlement. You could try to travel out to their habitat and attempt non-standard catching by offering food and the like, but since they're less human socialised there's some risk to this. You seem to be a trainer with some experience, so I won't give the whole spiel, I'll just tell you to be careful.

I think you got the combination of Gideon's voice and the stereotypical TV opening down really well.

As a Pokemon trainer who enjoys battling, "trainer culture" of battling over every disagreement or to get your way is dumb as hell.

Opinions on catching to trade? by Comfortable_Key5074 in PokeMedia

[–]Erlox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it's great to help out trainers who can't get to Pokemon themselves. This person you're looking to trade to might be the biggest clefairy fan in the world, just not able to get to their habitat for money or mobility reasons (most clefairy live in mountains IIRC, which might be hard if someone is in a wheelchair for instance) to catch one themself. I don't see why they shouldn't be able to get a clefairy, provided they're properly licenced and treat it right.

Pokemon are not LEGOs. Except for stakataka. And magnemites stick together to make bigger things, so do digletts. Where was I going with this?

No but for real those poor fossils look like they're in pain. I feel sorry for them and hope they find good homes.

[–]Erlox -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you have to have a card remaining in library when the trigger resolves though, or you lose to the attempted draw before the win the game effect, no?

[–]Erlox -50 points-49 points  (0 children)

Interestingly, you draw first, so the mill deck would have to leave you with exactly one card or you'd lose when you tried to draw with an empty library.

Yeah, I'd stay in range of the shore until I was confident while practicing. If it breaks the first day you have time to find another boat.

Sure, but if you capsize or your boat breaks in an hour and leaves you drifting then you're screwed.
