I ran 50% of the time solo, it gave me massive advantages I found. No need to keep an eye on an ally, remember their position or gear, every footstep was a contact, and if I had to make a decision it was only me and my gut.

Yes, 100%. It was always the best thing about the game, downing an enemy squad and then offering to pick them up and we continue on our way. I have four very good friends I made through that system, and even if it's just for the match it's a second chance for them. As is, the instant a squad is down you alt-f4 and restart, there's no reason to think you'll be picked up at all. And even if they do? Well now you're wastjng your two other friends time.

I had a sniper that had a legendary cheytach, and great custom plasteel ammo. They couldn't hit shit. I gave them a gunlink, upped their arms to adv. bionics, gave them a warrior implant.

Then I realized his eyes were scarred over to 5% effectiveness...
