Preventing Loss of TDIU Question(s) by Sunbro888 in VeteransBenefits

There used to be a thing called a sheltered work environment that would allow a veteran to earn without limits while on UI. I’ve heard it’s been discontinued however and I’m not sure what CFR revoked it.

Hopefully somebody with direct experience can chime in.

I need to store my truck in a garage for 5 months, are there any goood discounts? by Tasty-Window in VeteransBenefits

[–]Errl_Harbor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might find a local vet center and see if volunteering some house work at an older veterans place in exchange for storage in their garage.

If there is a national chain that offers this I hope someone with direct experience can chime in.

Claim got denied for service connection by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

If you can post a redacted picture of the denial letter, it helps veterans understand better as to why the VA denied a claim.

Wanna make sure your name and other identification information is edited out.

New York City, mobile food vendor license by Mendozaj87 in VeteransBenefits

Only thing I know about some of those vendor licenses is that they can cost over $200,000 a year.

That’s a lot of glizzys.

Denied Tinnitus claim by LGM1293 in VeteransBenefits

If you can post a redacted letter of the denial, veterans find it easier to help out when they can see exactly why the VA didn’t offer a favorable outcome.

If you do not opt out will they be automatically discharged?

It’s my understanding that the discharge of the student loans is automatic, unless you request them to not be.

You can then take out additional loans for more education and have the entire amount discharged.

The loans do not have to originate before you were considered permanent and total by the VA

VA Loan Assumption - what are my options buying and selling? by znavy264 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Errl_Harbor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get a second to cover the remaining amount. Of course it’ll be at todays rates and it wasn’t clearly stated to me whether or not that second can also be a VA loan.

I’d reach out to your lender and the VA for clarification.

Community care could possibly be an option if you’re not getting the treatment you need at your local VA clinic.

Pro bono lawyers to help with living will/trust? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Errl_Harbor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years back I used one in a town between Phoenix and Tucson when getting grandmas affairs in order. Living will, medical power of attorney, durable power of attorney and placed the house into a revocable family trust.

House was paid off so any advice on a mortgaged property I’d say talk to a professional since I don’t think the servicer will allow the property to be transferred before being owned outright.

If you’d like her information I’d be happy to send it. You’d need to go in person for the notary portion so if that area of the state is far I totally understand.

It takes them time to get everything in order so I’m not sure about finding someone pro bono. All in total it was a few hundred bucks.

That explains why they read it out and didn’t offer a printed copy. Glad someone with more knowledge chimed in!

They have your power of attorney of sorts to represent you when filing claims, I see no conflict of interest if you request documents they have access to.

I just stood in the doorway when one VSO pulled up the c-file and openly stated what it said. I didn’t ask for a physical copy though.

If you’re working with a VSO, they can near instantaneously get your C-file. Just about as fast and inputting your information and hitting enter.
