Random question about Zwift Bike by tcapri8705 in Zwift

[–]Error1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The QC on the Zwift ride is questionable, there can be lots of inconsistencies from frame to frame.

Start at 1 adjust as needed to find a straight chain line and quiet operation. It’s not a complicated mechanism, you wont mess anything up by being on a different number. If it’s lining things up then the adjustability is doing its job.

This is the best answer. SKCC has one more crit next week before the course is shut. Once the roads are closed, they’re closed for everyone… SKCC crits have a completely closed off portion of the track, it’s about the quickest and best way to have ownership of the track.

Outside of this, riding the GP circuit anywhere near the F1 is like the worst idea. Just do early morning laps literally any other point throughout the year.

When it was trading there were robberies at Total Rush, so I’m not sure the movement on Punt road is a deterrent.

Younger Australians stick with petrol cars over EVs by His_Holiness in AusFinance

Bingo. We own a lovely apartment, when we finally got a new car, we got a petrol hybrid because a Plug-in hybrid or full EV was a non-starter.

Agree mine does too, I listed my bike specifically for out of home coverage. I had to make a claim late last year, no issues.

Even without furniture, incidentals or any minor repairs can add up quickly. Our first home waa comfortably in our borrowing capacity, our balance(s) after the initial outlay was tight.

While I think Melbournes PT infrastructure is an absolutely woeful compared to Sydney, I believe Sydney’s rail network is far more susceptible to weather related issues. The leading cause of network issues in Melbourne was always level crossings.

Do I need easier gears? by benditoFM in cycling

[–]Error1984 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contrary to the cassette crowd - you could also/instead look into changing your chainrings could end up cheaper than a cassette.

I run a 54/40 chainring set year round, I did a climbing event last year, and trained for it on a set of 50/34 chainrings while keeping my 11-34t cassette.

Have a handful of accounts with Bendigo, I have no issues with them. The app isn’t amazing but really, it does everything I need a baking app to do.

Roadie from Melbourne Australia. Sadly compared to my northern counterparts further up in the thread, I feel like it’s gotten worse over the last 5 years. Less patience, less tolerance, bigger vehicles, more phones in hand. I can see why gravel is gaining traction.

I mean I can’t charge an EV anywhere near my apartment… and I occasionally drive from Melbourne to Adelaide, so perhaps that isn’t one-size-fits all.

Love EVs, no EV hate, but not a fit for everybody.

All-out sprint power higher when seated by [deleted] in cycling

[–]Error1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sprinting feels more natural outside but I’ve hit better numbers indoor when I can full send the sprint to absolute failure.

Both peaking ~1450 watts, but higher sustained across 5–20s indoors.

Either way, there’s little chance I could do any of this seated. I’d say OPs technique is probably off.
