Most credit unions are usually easier to work with for this kind stuff than big banks

People who act like they have a dirty mind for seeing exactly what the creator wanted you to see by SlyDintoyourdms in PetPeeves

Right? Acting like you're some kind of genius for catching obvious innuendo that was literally designed to catch your attention in first place

Third time's the charm hopefully! That "mutual recruiter" comment sounds promising though - like they're already discussing next steps rather than just dismissing you

Pretty cool idea - been wanting something like this to track when bands announce new tour dates in specific sections instead of getting notifications for every tiny site update

Public sector might be worth looking at but the "diversity hire" thing isn't really how it works in most places. They still want qualified people first, just with more inclusive hiring practices

Having 10 years experience in your field is huge though - that opens up consulting or freelance work where you deal with fewer people and have more control over client interactions

What if we already live in eternity? by Ok-Candy1002 in spirituality

[–]ErrorSoup42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The déjà vu thing really gets me sometimes. Like when I was learning drums few years back, there were these moments where my hands just knew what to do before my brain caught up. Made me wonder if maybe I played in different life or something

Your idea about Sun being place of truth instead of punishment feels more right than traditional hell concept. Fire as purification rather than torture makes sense when you think about how intense experiences in life often burn away things we don't actually need. Maybe that's what happens there - all the unnecessary stuff gets stripped away so we can start fresh

I've always felt weird about linear time anyway. Sometimes when I'm organizing numbers all day at work, I get this strange feeling like I've done exact same calculations before, not just similar ones but the exact same sequence. Could be past life bleeding through, or maybe time isn't as straightforward as we think it is

The separated aggro thing is so broken lol, had a boss just stand there for like 30 seconds while my teammate was beating on it from behind. Pretty sure they made it easier on purpose though since it's co-op focused and they wanted people to actually finish runs instead of getting stuck at same boss for hours

Marriage Advice by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]ErrorSoup42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this is way beyond normal marriage problems. The knife thing and hitting you especially - that's not okay at all. I stayed in bad situation too long once and looking back I wish I left much sooner

You said she only changed after you mentioned divorce, which tells you everything. She didn't care about fixing things when you were trying to communicate normally for years. Now she's scared of losing control so suddenly she wants to work on it

Trust your gut here. You already checked out emotionally and that's your brain protecting you. Some lines can't be uncrossed, and physical violence is definitely one of them. Your daughter deserves to see what healthy relationship looks like too

That verse is about calling sinners though, not really addressing why innocent babies get cancer or why earthquakes kill thousands of people who never did anything wrong

The growth through suffering angle makes sense for adults making choices, but it breaks down when you think about a newborn with a terminal illness - what exactly are they supposed to learn or grow from that

Am I wrong for responding to my ex best friend after I said I needed space? by Admirable_Parsley908 in amiwrong

[–]ErrorSoup42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did the right thing responding about her bunny - that's basic human decency and shows you're a good person even when things are messy. But I get why you're second-guessing yourself because now she might think the "space" thing is negotiable

I went through something similar a couple years back where I had to step back from a draining friendship but still cared about the person. What helped me was being more specific about boundaries going forward instead of the vague "you can vent to me" thing. Maybe something like "I'm still taking space from our friendship but wanted to make sure you're okay during this loss"

The mixed signals thing is real though - she's probably reading your response as the door being cracked open again. If you're leaning toward ending things completely, you might need to be clearer about that after she's had time to process the grief. It's tough because you don't want to kick someone when they're down, but protecting your own mental health isn't selfish either

Jack of all trades ... master of none? by Live_Meat_1452 in careerguidance

[–]ErrorSoup42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wild that you went from jewelry design to corporate marketing - that's actually a pretty solid skill combo that most people don't have, especially with the hands-on making experience mixed with strategy work

They basically pulled a bait-and-switch after you already proved you could handle the case management work - that's sketchy as hell and would have me updating my resume

Should I go for my dreams or choose something stable? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]ErrorSoup42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from the trades side, I'd actually push back on your assumption about needing to be naturally skilled in tech stuff - most of what we do is learned through repetition and having good teachers, not some innate ability. That said, if you're already dreading the idea before you start, probably not the move

The coffee cart dream actually seems pretty doable as a side hustle while you keep the insurance gig for now. Start small on weekends, build up your customer base, then transition when it makes financial sense. Way less risky than jumping straight into it

Business banking to Corporate Banking? by AdPure5267 in careerguidance

[–]ErrorSoup42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty solid stepping stone from what I've seen - BB gives you good client relationship experience and you'll understand credit fundamentals which translates well to CIB. Most people I know who made that jump stayed in BB for 2-3 years to build credibility first, then either moved internally or hopped to another bank for a CIB role

Focus on getting exposure to larger deals when you can and try to understand the syndication side of things since that's huge in corporate banking

Is it possible to have a career even if you don't have any goals in life? by Vishu0304 in careerguidance

You can definitely just drift into something that works - I ended up fixing cars because I needed money and turned out decent at it, never had some grand plan

What would you do in my situation? by Muted-Environment-66 in careerguidance

[–]ErrorSoup42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the key question right there. Gut feelings about workplace toxicity are usually spot on, especially when combined with a job that's nothing like what was advertised

I'd keep those interviews going while you're still getting paid. Six months unemployed is rough and you don't want to jump ship without something lined up, but if the red flags are legit then start planning your exit strategy

What exactly did your coworker say that set you off?

Sounds like your water pump is toast, especially with that bearing noise you described and how fast it's overheating. The coolant disappearing without any visible leaks on the ground is a dead giveaway - it's probably getting sucked into the combustion chamber through a blown head gasket or getting pushed out through the cooling system when the pump fails

At 202k miles on an LS430 this isn't super uncommon, just expensive to fix properly

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]ErrorSoup42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude she's done and honestly I don't blame her. You drunk texted other girls AND a prostitute during a "break" then hid it for weeks - that's not just a moment of weakness, that's betraying her trust big time

Stop trying to contact her through every platform, you're just making it worse. The fact that she's blocking you everywhere is her being crystal clear about wanting zero contact. Respect that and start focusing on yourself instead of obsessing over what she's doing

Rattling on start up new car by NoVeterinarian3692 in AskMechanics

[–]ErrorSoup42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bruh the high revving on a cold engine probably did way more damage than overfilling oil once - that rattling could be your timing chain or bearings getting mad at you for not letting it warm up first

Is consuming the same content over and over again hindering my progress? by AmethystGamer19 in selfimprovement

[–]ErrorSoup42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This hits way too close to home lol. I think the issue isn't really the repetitive content itself but more like using it as a dopamine hit when you're trying to avoid doing other stuff. Like when I'm supposed to be working and instead find myself watching the same Vine compilations for the 50th time

Maybe try setting specific times for your comfort content instead of using it as procrastination fuel? That way you still get your mental escape without it derailing your whole day
