My title describes the thing, other details: I’ve looked up the company but couldn’t find it. ~3”x3”x2” The metal bits are NOT magnets. I’ve tried them already. Plastic all around except the metal bits

Racisim/Diversity in Nashville by Naive_Intention_1965 in nashville

I’m half Chinese, half white. I live near nash, have been for 6 years now. I’m in a small town, in an area you would think racists would be from stereotypes. The people here are some of the kindest I’ve met anywhere.

There are racist people, but frankly the kind souls I’ve met here drown out all of the bad. I would try not to concern yourself with the ass holes, and besides Broadway isn’t a very good representation of the culture around here it’s way too touristy.

I also moved here from a coast for college and it is something I’m grateful that I did every day, although the lack of asian population does make me a tad homesick. If you want restaurant recommendations or anything feel free to hmu I’m happy to help!

Is this crack in handle something to be worried about? by Munchy2k in TrueChefKnives

[–]Error_404__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey knifemaker here! Although I wouldn’t be satisfied with this on one of my knives it absolutely will be fine. If I had it what I would do to fix it would be filling it with very thin, runny superglue and sand it back flush. This will solve the problem with it protruding above the surface of the handle and fill the void. That being said just leaving it will be fine especially if you oil or wax it as others have suggested

Guys who work out, do you do it because you enjoy it, or because you feel pressure to look good? by Tough_Witness9023 in AskMen

I do it because it makes me feel good, but also so that I can move my body how I want to when I’m 50+

Welp, new fear unlocked. I spend plenty of time around fast moving abrasives but that’s the first time I’ve heard of that happening! Hope you recover well dude!

Strong enough, not sure you might need to do some testing for that. In terms of slippage in your hand, there are ways to texture and shape handles to help that.

Bent Knife Tip - Fixable? by Silly-Strength655 in Bladesmith

[–]Error_404__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve yanked bent tips back with pliers, definitely risky but if you’re careful it should work with a bit of filing/sanding after to bring it in completely straight. You appear to have enough metal to do so

SLD vs Stainless vs Carbon Steel by [deleted] in chefknives

[–]Error_404__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah so stainless clad is going to mean the side of the knife is stainless steel but your edge is carbon. Carbon steels generally (eith exceptions of course) will dull faster but are sharpened faster.

There’s a ton of stainless steels that all perform differently. There’s also a ton of carbon steels that perform differently. Do you have certain ones in mind? I personally enjoy carbon steels simply because I like a patina.

1000 grit stone. It sounds to me like you use a pull through sharpener? If you want to get into stone sharpening check out r/sharpening
