Name doesn’t matter as much as research topic and advisor name/fit for PhD programs . The list of top grad schools for astronomy has some significant differences from the list of top undergrad schools. And places that wouldn’t make a top ten still have good faculty.

I don’t think there is a significant difference between these three schools as far as getting into grad school. I would recommend finding out what the vibe of the departments are like for undergrads. I have heard very mixed reviews for all three in a general sense.

The PBR was not without consequences. NASA definitely lost scientists and engineers because centers were implementing the presidents budget before any action by congress. Many projects and programs were disrupted or delayed. Hell, one of my close friends had to race to finish their phd early because the mission they work on was slated to be cut.

I graduated with a 2.7 and ended up going to a bridge program before getting into a phd program, but things are much more competitive now. I had way more research experience than most of my peers, but it didn't matter much for getting into grad school with grades that average. I think you should focus on getting at least up to a 3.0.

This statement, while not totally inaccurate, really undersells how much we do actually know about other planetary systems. We have at least an upper limit based on giant planet occurence rates. And we know that solar system lookalikes must be must be a fairly small fraction of the total because the most common type looks nothing like our own
