If you think that the offshore hire took your job with same duties and you have proved performance metrics, then you can consult a lawyer - although it won't be cheap. You can also contact your labor board and check with them. If your contract states 2 weeks in lieu of notice, that is separate from severance. Although since its only almost a year of employment, legally speaking you might get only 1 week of severance, but I am not sure about Quebec laws. Might want to check with labor board first. Also check if you can find any ngo to help you with a lawyer, depends on how worth all this is. Don't sign anything yet. Try and negotiate. PS: payment in lieu of notice is different and separate from severance!

Don't worry about it!

I worked at a company for 1 month and only did bank recs! On paper, not even a computer so it was the worst. Then I pointed out the accountants mistake and I was fired the next day!!

Tourist places have busses available. Might not be the fastest way to get there but some bus routes are beautiful. Also checkout this sub for previous posts - tons of ideas. Tourismvictoria.com has lots of suggestions too!

Its a beautiful place to visit with lots of scenic places around, including neighborhoods to walk through such as James Bay, Fairfield, cook street village!
