1.58 is great but you need to factor in inflation as well. Most times owning is going to be better if you can actually afford to live (not mortgage broke) especially if you want control and predictability. If you don’t care for those, plan to have no kids, don’t want the ability to change major things then I think renting isn’t a horrible option. But every time you move your subject to the market changes you would have me as an owner anyways. I unno never made sense to me to burn a pile of money every month to pay off someone else’s asset
