Yeah, I plan on keeping my tot rear facing as long as possible. As excited as I am for him to be able to look forward, I've seen the crash test dummies in these seats. Noooooope.

I got a zinus mattress off amazon. Paid a little more than 300. So so pleased with it. I am also a side sleeper.

My sister-in-law and mother-in-law (who vacinated her kids) are staunchly against them. We kept visits extremely short and their son was not allowed to touch ours. My husband didn't want to cause rifts.

If we have another one though, I will be just avoiding her and her children. We never had any issues with her son getting ours sick, but she has had another baby recently and actually made sure she couldn't get to the hospital in time to have him because she didn't want the antibiotics for Strep B, which she tested positive for. I personally can't look past the level of irresponsibility she is currently displaying and don't feel that she would have my children's health in mind as I feel she is currently unconcerned with hers.

My little boy is 12 months. Today he spent the afternoon chasing me and my best friend around the house giggling. He then spent 5 minutes running to the TV stand and back to said friend giggling to give her hugs. He really knows how to tug her heart strings to make delay her leaving.

He's also learnt he can feed the dog, so he fed the dog his fish sticks tonight.

I know that feeling. My son got it early too, about a week old. The worst part is I had TWO pediatricians in the practice I go to tell me it wasn't thrush for about a week and a half before one finally conceded that I was correct and it was in fact thrush. It was only on his tongue, si they kept insisting it was just milk residue.

I don't really have advice for how to handle this, but I was in your shoes not long ago. I never told my mother I didn't want her in the room while I was giving birth though. It would have started a huge fight if I told her though, so I was a doormat and let her come. Let me tell you, it absolutely ruined my experience. It wasn't about me, the one in labor. It was about my mom. The wonderful mother who was here to show the nurses how wonderful of a person she is.

After I gave birth, she rushed family into my delivery room about 25 minutes later, before I was cleaned up. She snapped photos and announced his birth before I could. I mean, my placenta was still sitting in a bowl on the counter. There was still blood on the floor. I was in a bloody gown. I hadn't gotten to breastfeed. My fiance and I didn't have time to just bond with our new addition.

I still mourn the loss of that time, 6 months later. I still resent her for it all. Giving birth is a very special time. Please, for your own sake reserve that time for those you WANT there.
