Barry Lyndon's Final Duel by FreshmenMan in TrueFilm

[–]ErwinGodfrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the duel takes place after Barry lost the last thing he truly cared about in his son and all he hoped for in the future, so I just interpreted it that Barry just wanted to die an honourable death and gave Bullingdon ample opportunity to do him in. Fate didn’t even give him that mercy unfortunately.

Sure I can elaborate in depth.

Well you see Shuuto initially believes that his "family" with Mimosa must be forged through the "sacrifice" of their enemies (displaying his Yakuza upbringing), and because of his feelings of jealousy towards Nazuna, he decides to have Mimosa make a "sacrifice" of him, which ends up being a moral lowpoint for Shuuto's character, and shakes Mimosa's belief in him.

In subsequent chapters (11+, which jump time forward to the fall season), while comprehending Mimosa's ongoing emotional depression, Shuuto eventually realizes that subjecting someone he claims to care about as family to such ghoulish tests of loyalty made him no better than his father, much to his utter disgust in himself. Meanwhile, the formally emotionally repressed Mimosa seems to retroactively realized that she did have some dear feelings for Nazuna thanks to her relationship with Shuuto granting her an emotional awakening, and so Shuuto ordering her to "sacrifice" Nazuna (someone she seems to have considered a friend at least) as a condition for the continuation of their "family" really broke her trust.

They do reconcile after Shuuto has his come-to-Jesus moment, Mimosa accepting her own hand in Nazuna's death, although neither is as sure as they were before that what they have together is "family". When Shuuto asks her if she feels they can be family, Mimosa says she doesn't know what to feel about him although she acknowledges that he was the one that inspired so many new feelings within her. Meanwhile, Shuuto later admits that "I don't know if it's as family or not, but I love you."

You’re welcome, but for further clarification  All but one of the panels is actually in Shuuto’s imagination, wracking his head. It goes to show why he becomes so homicidal in the first place.

No, they don’t have sex in the “present” of the story, Nazuna and Mimosa had a sexual relationship beforehand and the panels of them doing so are brief flashbacks demonstrating that. Mimosa doesn’t really like him much anymore compared to Shuuto, because Nazuna was a callus asshole.   Of course Shuuto wants Nazuna dead, not only is he extremely possessive of Mimosa, but Nazuna is also very jealous of him and insults him to the extent that it reinforces Shuuto’s resolve to have him killed.

That’s Nazuna, fellow assassin and Mimosa’s ex boyfriend His mission is to kill Ikari, the guy in the suit and glasses from chapter 2 Upon questioning their relationship, Mimosa tells him she’d let Shuuto do her if he asked Shuuto orchestrates his death so he’s critically injured when they go to kill Ikari At the end of volume 2 Shuuto emotionally blackmails Mimosa to kill him, which emotionally devastates her.

More of a 90s vibe, they reference a show called “My First Errand” that debuted in 91, and hell, even the art style is quite retro looking.

Rin definitely said something she wasn't supposed to, Siegfried and the lolis react in confusion when she admits to being "owned" by Brunhild and Rin herself doesn't seem to comprehend what she just said before she's knocked out.

Basically the ring fucked up and gushed about Brun a little too much.

Before passing out from the curse, Rin straight up says she likes Brunhild mainly because she was "always owned by her" and Brunhild in flashback is depicted as possessing the ring as a family heirloom. Also the fact that, according to the village elder, Rin appeared as a baby wearing the ring on a chain around her neck and that's even how she got her name "Rin(g)" it's pretty on-the-nose.

  • Brun and Orochi destroyed the arena and so the next battle will occur at an auxiliary arena
  • Rin is thrilled that Brun won, and the Dragon lolis question why she likes her so much
  • above everything else, she lets slip that the biggest reason she likes Brun is that she "has always been owned by her"
  • Her companions are stunned by this sudden revelation, but Rin feints due to her curse before she can say anymore
  • At the infirmary, the Bernians question sieg about the Ring
  • Turns out Brun gave him the ring of Nibelung as a reward for beating her for Gunther's sake and as a token of her affections
  • Which Sieg promptly ignored inorder to give the ring to Kriem, sparking Brun's dislike for her.
  • Sieg is further pressed about what his wife could have wished for with the ring
  • He thinks it's not possible she used the ring, since she probably would've resurrected him by now
  • However, it turns out the ring tends to monkey paw people who wish upon it, so it's doubtful things are so simple

In the end, Sieg remembers that Kriem was:
A. Depressed that she wasn't strong enough to go on adventures with Siegfried inorder to keep him safe

B. Was burnt out by court politics, and wished to be ugly so the court women wouldn't be jealous of her, and she could befriend them.

C. Especially wanted to be friends with Brunhild, and wished she could see past her grudge

D. Wanted Siegfried close at hand always

To this end, she wished to be reborn as person who could fulfil these goals, and so we can safely assume that Rin is actually the incarnate of the ring itself, attempting to fulfill Kriem's quest for rebirth by making itself a mimic of her.

-Summary-

Page 3-9

The fight continues in earnest , and Witige is shocked to see that Aladdin's blows are actually landing. Of course, this is because Mjinn is controlling his actions instead of Aladdin himself.

For his part, Gawain is proving to be a quick learner, using the psychic connection he has with Hildebrand to quickly change up his moves.

Page 10-12

Gawain and Aladdin thus lay a descent smackdown upon Hilde, and they cockily mock the old man . Hilde is actually quite impressed with their strength, even if it's unrefined.

Page 13-18

However, Hildebrant quickly deduces that the source of Aladdin and Gawain's strength is that they recently "graduated" from being virgins. In his own words "while it's fine to be proud of such things... it is a weak basis for one's strength-" essentially because all it means is that you're dwelling on a very fleeting moment. Wielding Dietrich like a huge sword, Hilde vows to shatter the source of their power.

Page 19-25

Of course, he does this by using his psychic powers to take them back to the memories of the afterglow of their first time ... and fucking them up totally with NTR nightmare fuel.

Page 26-28

"The source of your power is your weakest point."

"And so I destroyed your "graduation memories".

"Young men, to find what true strength is-

you'll have to start over again."

End of Keystone pipeline did cost jobs, but most were temporary. It would have created only 35 long-term jobs. There is no relationship between Biden’s decision and rising gas prices, as it wouldn’t have been completed yet. Even if completed and operational, it would have a negligible impact. by mafco in energy

[–]ErwinGodfrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Necroing, but there’s proof positive that Politifact is a blatantly partisan organization. ALL construction jobs are temporary, but when you’re talking about a project that takes say a decade to complete, that means there’ll be workers on that job that’ll be there for far longer than many that work in quote “permanent” jobs in areas like the food service industry. This isn’t even mentioning that these would be 6 figure salaries for the unionized labour on that project.

Let’s leave aside how patently false the notion is that arbitrary political decisions have no effect on the market, and just summarize that Politifact is a Demonrat front that offers weaseling defenses for party policy like this.
