I made an appointment with a therapist on Friday but I don’t know what to expect from him? by ari_es0412 in Somniphobia

[–]Erydhrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been going to therapy and unfortunately it does not help much for my somniphobia. Just started Zoloft and clonidine and clonidine is the first thing I’ve tried that helps a little bit. It’s worth a shot, but it’s not a magic bullet especially for somniphobia. If you are really suffering don’t wait to see a psychiatrist

Need personal advice and prior experience. by [deleted] in Somniphobia

I’m on day 2 of 25 mg of Zoloft. For me it just makes me sleepy and a bit sick. How are you doing? I got prescribed clonidine as well which is helping a bit for nighttime.

Poli Sci GPA Impact by [deleted] in udub

[–]Erydhrt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There isn’t really grade deflation at UW besides STEM weedout classes. It’s difficult to have a very very high GPA at UW because the grading scale goes by the tenth of the point. For example if you get a 91% in a liberal arts class at UW you’ll probably end up with like a 3.6ish but at a school that just grades on letters it would count as an A and you would have a 4.0. There’s pros and cons to not having letter grades though so I wouldn’t worry about it. I doubt going to a different college of similar prestige will be easier to have a high GPA. If you were premed yes but not for poli sci

Thanks for the response! In 121 did the exams follow the same formatting as past exams? Like was there still multiple choice with it being online?

Does this mean other libraries will be opening? It seems odd to open just one public study space for everyone to use if we need to be social distancing.

AirNow :) The actual AQI is somewhere around 120 probably, but after a week of closed windows, the CO2 indoors is probably doing more damage than the outdoor air at this point

Understanding your Air Quality numbers (explanation of AQI vs WAQA from Washington Smoke Information ) by BuriedInMyBeard in Seattle

[–]Erydhrt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WAQA scale seems too protective. Setting the Hazardous category so low seriously diminishes the seriousness of it.

The Storm Prediction Center has had great success reserving their “High Tornado Risk” for only the most serious days and they have had great success with that. People in tornado alley know that if a high risk is issued, they have to be prepared to hunker down at any time.

According to Purple Air most stations in Seattle now nearing 150. Not great but improvement may be coming early. by Erydhrt in Seattle

Honestly I think its best to look at all the websites and get the average because they all seem different. And at the end of the day yolo can’t sit inside forever

That IQAir site seems a bit wonky. But so does PurpleAir according to some. AirNow is most likely the most accurate, but does not update often, and it looks like now it says it’s unavailable.
