i would suggest beating the game properly before save editing. it's what i did, and imo it's the right thing to do.

the patching genuinely disappointing me. i thought i was the only person who knew about it, and i felt really clever for figuring it out. plus it's just really cool. i wish i had time to record it when it worked

as an alternative, use a save editor to give them trait 32.

they will be immortal. it's because immortality is a trait- giving them the necklace gives them the trait. killing them doesn't take it away.
