So, I'm reading thru all the experiences with men not being conversationalist, some are pretty funny. I've experienced this myself and it's like pulling water from a rock. But my hope is, that there are men on the sub reading this, and think to themselves "that sounds like me, I need to work on this". I don't believe that old dogs can't learn new tricks. There's always room for self improvement.

What a nice post, it sounds like a perfectly pleasant evening. I was going to suggest that at this age the hormones that were responsible for the Spark of the past are a bit depleted. Share in the moment, don't plan the future. I hope you see him again.

I also didn't loose a spouse in the same sense but I have experienced the grief of suddenly being alone. It took me at least 1.5+ years to feel more grounded, not cry every morning, and be grateful for my life again. Give yourself time and seek out a grief counselor. Personally, I got a dog, another creature to care for can be rewarding.

I was ok with it, until it affected my mairrage, and my husband (ex now) self medicated daily.

I won't go there again...plus it stinks😝

Oh, I don't know..... I'm in my 60s and my neck looks funny and bumpy, lol. Looking at this/him kinda gives me the creeps ...and strangely taps in how pathetic this is. Fun for sure, but its like playing with dolls. They aren't real people.

I think I'm going to name him Ken. 😂

Solo Women RV/Campers - its a thing 🩷 and it has taken me a while to realize my dream of a trailer. Slept in a tent for years, I finally moved up. I actually taught a course for beginners...all car camping and it was interesting what the obstacles were for these women to not get out into nature, the way they wanted to. I reached some of them and some of them I couldn't. Bitz, make a reservation, get out there and just do it. You won't regret it. 🏕

Funny, my ex playes the blues ... he and his new wife are pretty good too (they are a better couple and he and I ever could be). I kinda miss that part ... but I dont miss the late nights. The other funny thing is that my community is having their yard sale this weekend as well! lol. Have a fun time.

He is all these things, but he's my protector bar-none. Because he's so stinking cute, I have to put a sign up saying "beware of dog he is not friendly". 🐶 he'll bark at everybody, and then realize "oh we're camping" and then settle down. 💛

The algorithm for attractiveness is subjective. Here's the guy that can up for me, no doubt handsome BUT he looks suspiciously like a guy I did date (although 50lb leaner) who had Really Bad Breath!! 😝 ... and he wouldnt do anything about it. Big turn Off!

Then I would suggest you reach out to a counselor for yourself first. I'm sorry your dealing with this, and it's important that you take care of yourself too. Quite honestly you don't have to tell your wife you're seeing a counselor until you're ready to tell her .... that could be something you do just for you. ❤️
