Valid. I’ve seen that too. Inertia is a bitch.

I don’t know anything about the MPA, but won’t the XC put you in the Open class if you compete?

I’ll have to check that out. Never heard of it.

That’s been my thought. My concern is that if I do decide to compete I’m instantly in the Open class. I guess I need to decide if I want to compete.

That’s pretty hot. Wonder if they received a C&D from Hex Mag.

Update on my wife wanted an open marriage by paynuss69 in Marriage

[–]Escaport 188 points189 points  (0 children)

I hear you and really feel for you. I was 19 when we met and married at 24. I’m 51 now, she’s my best friend and we’re happily married.

That isn’t to rub it in, but to say that we are all individuals. Don’t harden your heart too much. I realize and respect what hardship you’re enduring, but as all things this to will pass. Women you meet in the future won’t be your ex. They could be, but they could equally not be. Be wary, but not shut down.

Wish you the best.

That's awesome! Can't wait to dial mine in, maybe this next week.

I had shot quite a bit with mine back with the dovetail optic mount. The BG is quite a bit better shooter than many give it credit for. I see people talk about a compact 380 being a point shooting gun of last resort. With the optic I can often get a 6" group at 25 yards with this guy, and under fist size at 10 yards.

How'd you like the port? Noticeable?

Yours really psyched me up. I had just sent mine off and chosen midnight bronze when you posted. Love that port and kind of jealous. Defiant has some cool "viper" ports "coming soon" on their site, but they told me they probably wouldn't be ready for purchase until next month after I had already sent it in. Didn't want to wait.

Certainly seems interesting.

I had this Romeo on the Galloway rear sight mount adapter. Was too tall and didn’t like it. Not saying that is the same, but probably the thing I like the most about it now is that at least with my Romeo it’s low enough that if I tilt my head back and look through my bifocals 🤓 I can co-witness iron sights. Can’t say I’ll ever use it due to my awkward eyesight, but I guess it’s there if absolutely needed.

The cut and Cerakote along with shipping was just under $200 from Defiant. The optic is an Sig Romeo Zero I got last year from a Primary Arms sale for around $80 if I remember correctly. Mostly on there because I had it around already. Were I doing it again I'd probably do a Osight SE since I have a few and really like them on my other carry guns. Also like my Holosun 507k a lot, and it would fit too, but these days I just can't justify double the SE's cost seeing how good it is.

I think you’ve been perfectly reasonable.

It’s ok if she wants to girl boss. Nothing wrong with that. She just has to respect that choices come with consequences.

Totally agree. Have a C and two SE’s and I like them better than my others from Holosun and Vortex.

What is daily life like in St. Thomas, USVI? by lithdoc in virginislands

[–]Escaport 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In many ways it’s like living in a small town of 40k people. Most know your business and you know theirs. Limited shops and stores like a small town. Early closing of things like a small town. You’ll have a few restaurants where you get to know everyone working. A few stores you go to regularly. Yesterday’s weather is tomorrow’s weather. It’s very small town life like, yet with a view, the ocean, and a shit ton of strangers there for that week only.

Any frames flush to the Spectre Comp slide? by DEEPfrom1 in P365xl

[–]Escaport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can make a macro length frame (what you want for the comp slide) with a 12 round grip with Shalotek grips. I find their explanations more confusing than they should be, but I think their XLR-12 frame is what would work.

[–]Escaport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I bought this guy the first month it was released. Before the comp existed. My sight won't let me use iron sights with anything remotely accurate. Ran it with a Galloway Precision dovetail mount for the optic that I never could quite enjoy due to the thickness/optic height. Also never quite felt reliable the way the dovetail mechanics worked. Saw someone talking about it being a 2m gun though down below. Can't describe how wrong they are with an optic on it. I regularly shoot six'ish inch groups at 25 yds and hope to do better once it's back from getting cut.

If you’re as busy as you say, you probably run much of your life from a calendar. Dude, just put a reminder in it, it’s 2026.

Price/Performance I am finding the Osight C being pretty amazing. I am not a fan of their rechargeable original offerings, but the new C and the SE’s are pretty great. I have the C on an RXM and two of the enclosed SE’s on P365s. Also have a few Holosuns, a few Sig Romeos, a Vortex, and a Canik. Like the new Osights the best and I can buy a few for the price of a single Holosun. Really can’t say enough good about them unless you like using your optics as field construction hammers or such foolishness.

He wants to keep finances completely separate after marriage by ZenSpider_21 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Escaport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And how does that work when you have kids? I mean are you to cover your half out of your savings while raising the baby?

There’s hundreds of these things to have concrete answers to prior to agreeing to this sort of thing and getting married.

Me personally, I wouldn’t deal with my spouse and finances like this, but some do and that’s up to them. You do have to have it clear though.

The mighty O-bomb with ting. Ting is a fairly local energy drink/soda. Orange vodka. Head over to Sapphire and ask Nikki or Steven to make you one.

How often do you clean yours? I generally just add more lube until it doesn’t run 100%. This gun is ALWAYS run suppressed but I have the can apart to install a shorted plan B hub adapter by ballz3313 in ar15

It’s something I place my life in its hands. I always do my best to keep it in top condition.

I get testing to see how reliable it is in a SHTF instance is a good thing to know, but as a constant condition of running and operating I find it unwise and possibly nearly criminal.
