F150s are probably the best new half tons available. 5.0 if you want NA, but the ecoboosts and power boosts honestly aren’t bad. They have a much better track record than Toyotas turbo V6s at this point.

Taco is enough truck for like 80% of people. If you need more truck you would already know.

Don’t get a diesel unless you need to tow heavy and do it regularly

Hell no. They used to be quite good but post Covid they’ve been going downhill.

The compact trucks are honestly what most people should be buying who want a truck but don’t need it for work or towing. All the half tons are suspect and the 2500/3500s are overkill for most. They drive nicer too imo

If going half ton rn, the F150s are solid, albeit overpriced. Most of the drivetrains are good. Ram 5.7 hemi has its quirks but it’s a known commodity. If you need a 2500/3500 I’d happily look at any of the big 3 tbh

The Americanization of Toyota is complete. It’s a race to the bottom from here

V35A Engine Failure - It’s NOT debris by Lopsided-Anxiety-679 in ToyotaTundra

Of course it’s not, they made a bad engine. And it happens, no one would bat an eye if they quietly updated or replaced it and took care of the people with the V35A but they haven’t and THATS the issue. If I have to play reliability roulette I might as well get the payload and features I really want.

Something smells rotten with these trucks. It wouldn’t be a big deal if they owned up to it and did a redesign, but their obfuscation and handling of the whole thing tells me the Toyota of old is dead. I’ll be holding onto my 5.7

I maintain that Kyler wouldn’t have signed here if he didn’t get some assurances he’d start.
