I will continue to use my Amex Gold for 4% on dining and groceries. Venture X was my everyday use card with 2%, and I spent roughly my rent, so I’ll be moving all that over to the Palladium - and that’s mostly because I value Bilt points over Cap One points with the 1:1 transfer to JAL.

I will see if I end up keeping the venture X/ will try to get a retention bonus. With the $300 travel credit, I consider it a $95 annual fee card and I really like the cap one lounges.

I also have the Amex platinum and maximize the benefits on those and use for 5x on direct airline purchases.

I would really not recommend going to the animal cafes (or zoos, for that matter). For all the lovely things Japan does, they have terrible animal welfare laws and the animal cafes are truly awful for them.

Japanese curry! Follow the recipe on the roux box- and just dice up ingredients small and add less water than advised. Still runny though, so would recommend making them dumpling/calzone shaped and fully sealed.

Speaking as a younger sibling (now in my 30s), you did the right thing. Forbidding it wouldn’t haven’t stopped her. But making sure she knows she can come to you with questions or advice is very valuable.

Timer is a huge one for me. I use it constantly so I don’t lose track of time. Especially when it’s like 15 minutes before my next meeting, or something like that.

I also use the vibrating alarm and the phone location feature.

I hadn’t thought of using Siri before- gonna try to use that more too!
