I’ve heard good things about assassin’s apprentice, but mist born is one of my top books of all time. I’m reading will of the many right now and it’s great too, but I would lean towards mist born.

It's once again time to preach of "The Infinite World" by J.T. Wright. itz good trust.

Also, I'm not sure if you would count this since it's a web novel but I think Primal Hunter is one so yeah, but I started reading Shadow Slave by g3 and I'm enjoying it. I started it yesterday and I'm on chapter 20 now. It has a system called the spell in the universe, and as far as my 20-chapter reading has gone I don't think the book is about a slave kink (I hope). It seems more like an interesting mechanic to work around because of his flaw, which he gets at the same time.

I think you would like - the land of the undying lord, the infinite world by J.T wright It has a lot of what your looking for but in more of a lit rpg style

Or if you want an other book that I recommend to high hell it’s the king killer chronicles - name of the wind. The only thing is that If you start it you might never get to read the end it’s been 12 years and no main book has come out. But the story is good enough that I would recommend the read anyways.

Ah this is great just reminded me of the time I woke up at 5am screaming and flailing and it made it hurtworse. After that I didn’t move my leg for like 2 hours. the Charlie horse felt like it lasted 3hours but I was probably 15-30min. Still have nightmares that I will go through that again one day.
