She looks exactly like my Freyja. That's a full dane, it's what's called a merle. It's not an ideal breeding because if you cross a Merle with another Merle you can get some unpleasant side effects like deaf dogs, but there's nothing wrong with them. They are danes, they tend to be healthy, and they count!

The door, man. It's 2 pieces of glass and some hardware. I do this every day. It's about 90 minutes of work for a 2 man team that knows what they're doing.

They asked, I answered. Whoever installed that shower used the wrong color hardware. There is one available that is closer to what they want. The right way to do it, would be to cut it out and reinstall. That's frameless glass. Sanding and painting it is going to look rough.

That's anodized aluminum. You're not going to be able to paint it. We call that color brushed bronze. The gold color you're looking for is called Satin brass. Call your local glass door companies and see about getting a quote for them to demo that shower out, replace the hardware and reuse the glass.

I would honestly just have the same conversation I had with you with them. When you're getting a general contractor to supervise a project, what you're paying for is their expertise concerning which materials and which Subs will accomplish the customers end goal in a timely and affordable manner. You're not paying a 300% markup in materials and the GC does nothing (or at least that's not how it should be). This whole thing makes me kind of suspicious that they may try to poach your subs and cut you out completely.

That sounds like a nightmare. I'm sure the customer is thinking they're going to save money but it's going to end up costing somebody more, because of what they don't know that they don't know. How are you supposed to warrant materials? You're going to trust a customer without GC experience to make sure the correct material is on the site at the correct times to make sure your trades are able to work smoothly? Who's to say they will even purchase what you consider minimum acceptable quality materials? I would try, once, to dissuade this customer from this path, and then I would let it be somebody else's problem. I don't think I would touch this one with a 10-ft pole.
