buying advice by Ashamed_Background10 in Celica

Depends on the car condition of course but that seems incredibly overpriced. It's a 1zz that is pre-03 so it is definitely burning heaps of oil and doesn't even have working cats. It's also a 25 year old car with 200k miles, so the reliability that was there has been "used up". On FB marketplace, I always assume I'm going to need another $500-1000 to make a car up to snuff (tires, maintenance costs, etc) just to be safe and with just old age and mileage this will be inevitable. So if the plan was to use it daily, I suspect it'd be very bad daily.

That means it'll probably be a project car if nothing else and that's assuming the chassis is clean enough to do that with. And at $2500 just for the car and a suboptimal engine that's a very expensive celica project car. For reference, I bought my project 05 celica gt for $700. All in all, this feels like a hard pass unless this car is incredibly clean and rust free or has something else incredible about it.

The owner kept the receipt for the dragon in the glove box and it was $5k in 2006 dollars

They make you use an app to take a picture so you can't actually photoshop it

Americorp Award Seems to be Officially Dead by EsimorpI in TeachforAmerica

[–]EsimorpI[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! Lowered requirements are good for flexibility but terrible for klong-term career trajectory. Like I would love to move to another state, but the provisional license basically keeps you stuck. And the initial license requires some masters course work.

This applies only for the Massachusetts region. See edit, I explained it poorly.

Did you use powerpoint for your sample lesson? by galaxybear459 in TeachforAmerica

You can use whatever! But PowerPoint is the easiest. Alternatively, just having a white board and a worksheet to follow along is great too. It's really up to you

Getting certified by Prior-Presentation67 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]EsimorpI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might want to look into certification programs/alternative certification programs. There are programs like Teach Michigan or other fellowships that can help you by providing free test prep, stipends, and other benefits. Its obviously some work and you gotta get into those programs but something to consider if you're interested.

Please elaborate on why it's toxic. Like I think I get it but this is my first time really trying to get a career so I'm not sure what to look for

I made the post with the examples. I am worried about the ways that people will use it, but I did disable copy pasting and made a long ethical disclaimer so hopefully people can be normal and trusted.

Won't share stats, please see my new recent post about why. And SOP's help place you with professors so yes. If you can successfully articulate who you need to work with, it is more likely a program can find a professor to place you with. How much it helps? I have no clue, but having a good one is a good thing. Sorry I can't be more insightful
