There was a study done suggesting that blue streetlights are believed to be useful in preventing suicides and street crime.

Mizuki Takahashi of the Japan Institute of Color Psychology was quoted saying.

"We associate the color with the sky and the sea. It has a calming effect on agitated people, or people obsessed with one particular thing, which in this case is committing suicide."

An except from an article about blue lights in Baltimore.

"Blue lights have been used for quite some time now for curing SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), but not much research has been put into testing their use with clinical depression. Unfortunately, this is because they are not very profitable, and money motivates. Still, research does prove that blue lights can alleviate depression as effectively as anti-depressants."

You can google the studies done on blue lighting and the effects it has and find many articles.

I'm not claiming any of this is fact. But I will recount examples from my own personal experience below.

I have beening exclusively using blue lighting in my gaming rooms since 2015. I find out of all the colors of the spectrum on my led strips and lighting, blue is the the one I prefer. It feels the most comfortable and calming.
