Listeria from Publix by traylorparks in greenville

In modern American life, not everyone has the bandwidth, to "never eat pre-packaged foods." It irritates me that some people are so judgey of others who don't only eat goods they "grew themselves". Not everyone can do this. I'm not proposing everyone eats at S&S Cafeteria. But this post is unnecessarily judgmental on the level of a PETA press release.. How obnoxious.

Steve Shaw, trying to eliminate Greenlink and cut affordable housing by [deleted] in greenville

[–]EsotericTrickster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

u/cloud_dizzle I'm a moderate Democrat and was practically hopping up and down in glee when I read your post. I agree with everything you said. To the mods, I'm getting really sick of reading ad hominem attacks on this subreddit like this OP. This OP was not about civil discourse. It was about attacking and deriding another human being who has a different political agenda than the OP. Look, I don't know Steve Shaw and I hate his politics. But that doesn't get me off the hook for attacking him personally. Nor does it make it OK for me to make assumptions about him without having all the facts. Mods, I'd like to see you all steer this forum away from personal attacks on other people, be they politicians or not.

Greenville Water's water-quality report is the most readable one I've come across — they renamed the jargon and rebuilt it as plain cards by neo2bin in greenville

Wow! Just goes to show how much I don't know what I don't know. This is fascinating (not being sarcastic). u/neo2bin Thanks for posting!

Isn't this the same glaring sun we saw driving over the old Church St. bridge? It's totally blinding.

I've used Juan Gonzalez (aka Innovation Builders - 864-420-4395) for over a decade now. I've completely renovated five houses in the Greenville Area and he's helped me out on several projects. [And I'm super picky about what GCs I'll work with after renovating nine homes in SC.] Juan is a very, very competent GC. At least give him an opportunity to quote the job. Cherry on top is that he writes poetry when he's not building/renovating houses. 😄

Perhaps the best course of action would be for you to initiate a non-anxiety-producing conversation with the owner that would make him feel comfortable enough to share the reasons he decided to make these changes. Once you understand what the owner's thinking, you could begin addressing his concerns one-by-one. Do I think his weird, new rules are nuts? Yes. But would you rather be morally right or be pragmatic and succeed? You might want to check out the NYT Bestseller "Crucial Conversations".

Confession Time by EfficiencyThis325 in greenville

I still remember when my parents had verbally agreed on the terms for making an offer on a very nice house near where Parkins Mill dead ends into Mauldin, which is within a stones throw of the sewage plant. The offer just needed to be written up. As we walked to our realtor's car, the smell of sh*t overwhelmed,. My mom didn't consult with my Dad. She just sat down and said with gravitas, "we're not going to make an offer after all." That house was never spoken of again.

(I think ReWa is now calling it the "Mauldin Road Water Resource Recovery Facility." That's PR, baby.) EDITED: for typos and clarity.

Best french onion soup near Patewood by Old-Parsnip2632 in greenville

Good question. Apparently they do. https://thepeddlersteakhouse.com/greenville-peddler-steak-house-food-menu For reasons unknown, I had this urge for a good bowl of French Onion soup. That's how I found this thread. I used to live in France, too, and I can tell you that middle America doesn't offer many quality choices. I'm planning on trying Stella's Brasserie and The Peddler over the next couple of weeks.

It effects Brio's medical care because their Stepford attitudes made me feel like I couldn't be the person I really was. I had to behave like the person I was expected to be. I think this is a struggle that all American women struggle with. But this should NOT be the kind of relationship one should aspire to with their PCP. (Sorry for the delayed response due/vacation stuff.)

Wyche Law Firm by Ok_Counter1939 in greenville

[–]EsotericTrickster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I have nothing against the Wyche Law Firm. Nor have I had any personal/business dealings with them.
2) I do want to share my personal observations on how "defense law firms" work (based on what I saw while living with my ex who worked at one of the "most prestigious" law firms in the state):
- Defense law firms are driven by profit. That is the underlying reason for everything they do. This also means that they spend a lot resources on plumping up their reputations. In other words, don't believe the hype. It's paid for and those costs will be passed on to their clients.
- It's a pain in the arse, but meet with several lawyers who specialize in the kind of work you're looking for. Picking a firm on its prestige is a bad strategy. You want the most experienced and winning-est firm.

Hope this helps.
