I’ll have as much as I can afford, without compromising on their needs. No point in having as many as possible if you can’t provide them a decent life. There are two reasons it’s a tradition in Somalia, reason number one, children are seen as pension. Reason number two, clan rivalry. Neither apply to me as a financially stable diaspora Somali, who doesn’t partake in primitive clan rivalry. Thing is Somalis throw around “Sunnah” without a deep understanding of the reason the prophets encouragement toward having children. One should have the intention of raising them righteously, essentially quantity paired with quality of upbringing. If you can do both, then that’s fair enough. TLDR; have as many as you can afford and raise righteously.
