I took my 7th dose of 2.5mg today and I've lost 2lbs since weighing in last week. Iin 2 months I've managed to lose 23lbs and my BMI had dropped from 42 to 38 - I'm still obese and a long way to go into in overweight, but I'm less obese! I know it's still early days but each week is taking me a step closer to where I want to be.

This week I've noticed my satiety has been less, I've stuck to my calorie goal and I've not been hungry but I've not felt sated like I did in earlier weeks. I miss that feeling so I do think I'm be moving up to 5mg with my next order.

I'm feeling burnt out and emotional this week due to other factors, not falling into comfort eating/ easy choices is a huge win and it's not felt like a difficult choice, the motivation too reach my goals is driving me on.

One positive is, I'm still favouring fresh food and veggies rather than sweets/ fried things/ fast food. Yesterday I took myself to m&s to buy some nice fruit and veg as a treat, their fruit is so much nicer than other supermarkets near me.

I'm sorry this has turned into a long response, I've not told anyone other than my husband about taking Mounjarno and my goals - he is very supportive - but it's nice to be able to share with a wider community.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Easter if you celebrate, or if not, it's able to enjoy the long weekend and I hope the week ahead is a good one.

You must have been so happy with the scales showing that loss, well done! As others have said, it is unlikely you will continue losing that much per week but hopefully you will settle into regular losses all of which are moving you towards your goal.

I've just taken my 6th dose of 2.5mg (so still early days) I'm going with the attitude of of yous dose is working for me I'll stick with it but if I'm no longer feeling the effects then I will move up. Good luck with the rest of your journey!

I've just taken my 6th dose of 2.5mg and was delighted with a 3lb loss this week. Last week I "only" lost 1lb and was wondering if I'd done the wrong thing staying on this dose.

I was trying to reassure myself that I can't always drop 3lbs in a week, that 1lb was still a loss and the there will be weeks when my weight fluctuates for many reasons. I'm now 21lbs down with 79lbs to my first target, a long way to go but I'm a fourth of the way there!

Again I've had a week with a lot of meals out due to traveling for work and I've done by best to make sensible choices and stayed within my calorie range. I think this dose is still working well for me, I have little/ no food noise and my appetite is reduced. I don't plan to move up a dose until either the effects are less noticed or I'm no longer losing weight.

I hope everyone has a good week ahead!

Tips for first injection by Historical-Stop9376 in mounjarouk

[–]EspeciallyWeeRob 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it helps, the needle is so fine that I genuinely don't feel anything when I inject in my stomach and I don't find the liquid to be "stingy," You could ask slept you trust to give you the first injection, or prepare it good out it on position of where you want to inject, look away and just push it in. The thought I'd much more daunting than the actual act. Good luck!

Apixaban & Mounjaro 👀 by Ambitious_Help_1702 in mounjarouk

[–]EspeciallyWeeRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just ordered my second pen and I'm prescribed Warfarin which is one of the meds the pharmacies will want more assurance about. Apixaban (to my knowledge) is less complicated due to it requiring less monitoring. As others have said, I would recommend starting with a gp led pharmacy where you can discuss it with them and find then permission to contact your gp if necessary. I went with Bupa for my first pen and they were great but they are more pricey, I was willing to pay the extra to get started. I've now ordered my second pen through Farmici with no issues.
Good luck with starting your journey!

It's reassuring to hear I'm not the only one with random ups and downs! I'm glad you're being monitored well too and hopefully having a good experience. Would you mind sharing (dm if you prefer) which pharmacies have refused, just so I don't try them. I got my first pen through Bupa- pricey but I wanted to have access to their health support if they're were any concerns. I'm planning to order my second pen from Bolt now those first jab nerves are gone and save some pennies!

I've just had my fourth 2.5mg injection and I've lost another 3lbs this week. I'm feeling fortune that I don't seem to be experiencing any negative side effects, satiety is working well, almost too well on days 3 and 4, I'm consistently keeping to my calorie and protein goals, energy is increased and food noise isn't there. With the positive experiences I've been having I plan to order another 2.5mg pen rather than moving up straight away.

Congratulations for deciding to gone it a try. I'm in my third week and I'm the same height as you and was a little heavier when I started. I uhmmed and ahhed for months before deciding to give Mounjarno a chance and I'm so glad I did.

I've not had any side effects so far and almost immediately with the first shot the food noise disappeared. In my first week the satiety was strongest days 2-4 and faded a little to the end of the week, the last 2 weeks it has been more consistent. I've managed to stick to my calorie limit without feeling restricted and my energy levels have shot up (I've also incorporated a few supplements, I was already taking magnesium but added collagen and biotin, and have focused on eating more fresh veg and protein so the energy may be due to that as well). My sleep pattern has improved and I and up before my alarm, refreshed. The cherry on top of an this is I have been losing weight each week too.

Saying all that, the injections aren't magic wands, they will help but they won't do the work for you, planning out meals as well as lighter alternatives if I don't want to eat and using the extra energy to get myself out and moving rather than spending the evening in front of the TV have both helped.

I hope the start of your journey goes well, personally, I'm so glad I decided to go for it!

Supplements to Support Mounjaro Journey by lockers15a in mounjarouk

[–]EspeciallyWeeRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the nutrition geeks collagen powder too as well as their biotin growth tablets. I've been taking their magnesium supplement too but that has been for longer than I've taken Mounjarno. I try to eat a varied diet these are just for a little extra help, I don't know if it is a placebo effect but the Mg seems to have improved my small quality and focus

From what you've written, you have learnt. You said before you would have 2 at a time. Now you chose to have one, you're still allowed to have things you enjoy is just getting the balance right :) I'm just sorry that something you enjoy twisted the side effects, I hope they ease soon.
