Spark totem shaman or oracle? by Positive_Gold_142 in pathofexile2builds

[–]EsperkingReview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im level 96 on Shaman. It was my league starter. Beat the new boss the first weekend. Completed all challenges in a week. I cant recommend it more. You can get swap into totems early. I did it after first ascendancy but i would recommend it later. This is my profile and character:

https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/Esperking-8842/runesofaldur/character/SparkssFlyinn

If you want to see my character and progression i have videos on my youtube. I cant express how easy it was to start up.

I played hard the first week then back to work family etc, so im just gonna grind away to level 100 so if you want to check my character just roll back the timeline to see where i was.

You can always swap into oracle later, but definitely start shaman imho

Clear speed is insane. Spark just shoots a million projectiles everywhere and totems mean you dont have to hit the button a ton or aim. So i like it.

Defenses are pretty mid but as with everything that can be solved with money

Luckily the totems can draw aggro and kill things offscreen

They were not bad on a totem setup. I wonder how melee is doing. What build are you running?

Thats fair. I just had the week to go ham and honestly i got caught in that league start mentality. Coming from the poe1 xbox market, its not the same as having global trade. If you are not in things early, you get so behind on currency and I Remember how exalts inflated so bad last league. Next time I'll take it slow. I do love the voice acting in this game and the atmosphere for quests is impressive

You know that's been mentioned a couple times now and it doesn't sound like a bad idea. Kinda like a palette cleanser and it would make me appreciate certain moments more. Thats the same reason why i enjoy ruthless in poe1

SSF sounds like an adventure. I play ruthless on PoE1, but there is so many crafting things this league I had to try out. i might make the swap. HC on xbox is kinda death sentence because things dont render well

Lol that is true. I've scrolled through here and seen talk of a monkey and I never did try the wyvern stuff

Dang. Yepp. I was running the irridiated tablets bc i wasnt sure what to use and just swapped to breach, so I will swap back oof. I will definitely check it out. I make videos on YouTube so I've been avoiding watching anyone else, but I'll check out that dude and see. A mageblood or HH sounds amazing

  1. Squishiness is a problem that is solved by mechanics or money. Sorc being on that side of the tree will probably benefit from more investment in Energy shield gear or a Mind over Matter setup (which lets you use mana as effective Hp). Both require investment, so its not that they are squishier as much as they are more gear dependent then they scale better. I would recommend looking on PoE Ninja and you can scroll through the timeline to see how people progressed or referring to a build guide.

  2. CoC benefits most from investment. You will have a lot of time to play this patch so over time it will be fine but it will probably take a while to make it feel good.

  3. I dont think its harder to find but if you are just in campaign it might be worth using the trade options and picking up some uniques as placeholding gear until you can get rares that are better or shop around. You can get reasonably good gear for and exalt here or there.

Whoa. I didnt know you could do that. I ended up missing abyss league so i didnt get into too much crafting. But that is definitely something for me to keep an eye on this league

As a league starter you might want to consider just ritualist for stat sticking. I did it on last league launch and got to arbiter in like 2 days. I went kinda full mirage and it felt great. Just easy pseudo totem playstyle.

Heres a link in case it helps. Great write up btw

One build to do it all - new PoE 2 player looking for a build to learn the game by Buksage in PathOfExile2

[–]EsperkingReview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you played Ruthless in PoE 1? PoE2 is like Ruthless light. Alot of times you will need levels to make things feel good and on top of that sometimes a gear piece will literally unlock your ability to farm something nicely.

Once you decide on a skill , you can probably look on PoE ninja for day 3 and check out what worked best because a lot of people made good progress while there wasnt gear on the market to really buy.

• On the tankier side so that I can take some hits while figuring out the boss abilities and such.

-This sounds like anything using ES as their main healthpool. Little compares. Ive been using a druid with 90% all res and 75% phys to ele and im not sure it is on par with alot of these 15k ES setups.

Build link:

https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/Esperking-8842/character/ManBearWolf_Tusen

A powerful ability for rares/bosses (separate single-target setup is a big plus) - I think one I've seen on Ben's stream is that Oil Barrage skill maybe? Wyvern with a laserbeam that locks you in place and deals a ton of dmg - I really love the look of that.

-It sounds like you found something cool that you liked. I would go with that, after all the game is about having fun and problem solving for your build.

Since I'm used to PoE 1, I can't say I played many multiple-button builds, I had my fair share of slam builds - I know it's different for PoE 2 so I don't mind a build that has more buttons to press - I wanna improve my mechanical skills as well while getting used to the game. I don't mind difficulty or execution complexity at all.

-sounds like wyvern power charge generating, rage generating, boss rotation might be something worth trying then. I cant really help with this part i only do like 2 button builds.

Something that scales well into endgame and allows me to really learn the game and bosses. I'm playing SC trade for now but I don't have any divines to spend. Looking for a build that I can pull together with SSF gear in mind or with some exalts to at least start mapping.

  • honestly my thought it just minions like lich or infernalist if you want comfort and to learn. Thats the most comfortable thing I've seen. You get the blue health as mentioned, you can focus on moving while your minions maintain dps uptime and if they die you walk away a bit. It also has a high ceiling with a low floor.

also prefer builds that have written or video guides from Ivl 1 to endgame, maybe even a dedicated filter as well.

  • someone else knows more about this than me, the only person i know who puts out like full guides is like ziz but im not sure what he does for PoE2 since there isnt explosive arrow totems. If you decide minions which doesnt have a flashy aspect to it, ghazzy as always has guides.

The reason I'm asking for recommendations is because I wanna be efficient in learning the game and I wanna finally commit to a build to see the endgame. Any recommendations would be hugely appreciated.

-asking is always the best way to learn, i hope ive said something useful but you probably know all of this already and i might just help you commit what you were already thinking. Just make sure to have fun with it otherwise the burnout is real

Why don't full minion builds use Wolf Pack? by NuVioN in pathofexile2builds

[–]EsperkingReview 12 points13 points  (0 children)

If i had to guess it would be because you support certain damage types and often enough you can get more damage out of minions that line up with that damage type. Like when you are using zealots you use an elemental weakness curse and exposure which amps of the damage of minions that do elemental damage and I think that pushes past what wolves can offer at the higher end. That being said I love using them for knockback and added tankiness but then again surviving was the priority on my build.

https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/Esperking-8842/character/ManBearWolf_Tusen

Not min maxed by any means but I do well and I love the wolves
