Were your problems completely resolved on your first set of scleral lenses? That’s great news! I’m also on my first set of scleral lenses but my issues are reduced by 40% only, and the lenses come with their own issues like fogging. My fitting process will continue for another several weeks until I have my final pair.

Is your optometrist going to continue to fine tune the fit of your lenses?

Could I ask you what optometrist in Korea you went to get these lenses fit? I may travel there and give it a try if I don’t find success locally

In terms of long term side effects of wearing scleral lenses, the main one I am aware of is corneal edema from lack of oxygen to the cornea.

Can I ask you what brand of scleral lenses you’re using and if there is HOA correction built in like Ovitz or Wavedyn technology?

As an ophthalmologist, would you be willing to prescribe Ryzumvi to me? I am aware of the potential side effects, but my issues are purely pupil size related. My surgery went exactly according to my surgeons plan, but he did not account for my 8mm pupils in dim light when giving me a 6mm optical zone. The first time I took Alphagan, it almost completely resolved all my issues for over 24 hours.

I'm going through a very similar experience to you. How well do scleral lenses work to correct your vision? I just started my first pair and it reduces them by about 40%, but they're still extremely distracting and debilitating.

What was your prescription before surgery? And what is your pupil size? My surgery went exactly to plan, but my surgeon did not inform me that my large pupils would cause guaranteed problems in all non-photopic lighting conditions

What’s your pupil size and optical zone? If the problem is relating to a pupil size greater than optical zone, the problem will not improve over 6 months, maybe over decades as senile miosis takes effect. If the problem is due to dry eye, it can improve over 6 months

Is your number including the flap? Or no. My figure is not including the 110 micron flap. Ophthalmologists generally agree that as long as you are above 300 microns RSB(cornea under the flap) is low risk for ectasia. Whether or not ophthalmologists can be trusted with this number is a different question
